This document provides instructions for a values assignment with two parts. Part 1 involves writing a personal manifesto stating one's principles and intentions. Guidelines are given for brainstorming, selecting, and writing beliefs and values. Part 2 requires a 350-word historical exploration comparing one's personal values to those of a chosen empire, including how the empire's values were created and the similarities and differences between the empire's and one's own values. Resources and formatting guidelines are also provided.

2. GROUND RULES!

Respect other people‟s beliefs - there is no right or
wrong!

The beliefs of other people are their own, they can
believe whatever they like.

If you strongly disagree with someone‟s belief, or
are offended by them, respond respectfully.

Under no circumstances should any beliefs be
made fun of, laughed at, ridiculed, or mocked.
