This document discusses strategies for carriers to leverage Kandy's platform for growth. It outlines how carriers can capitalize on their connectivity, brand, and billing relationships by offering value added services via APIs. Examples of potential services include messaging, conferencing, P2P calls, and digital stickers. The document also notes that the market for internet-connected devices or "Things" is much larger than the human communications market, presenting an opportunity for carriers to manage enterprise and municipal connectivity needs for Things. Kandy is positioned as a solution to enable carriers to operate Things connectivity and provide additional services through its platform on a global scale.

Marco Lafrentz, Director of CPaaS Business Line, tyntec
Programmable telecoms is a complementary element in many enterprise mashups that typically require accessing external platforms, data and web content. A roundup of pre-mashup essentials.
The current telecom ecosystems, especially the SMS ecosystem, need to evolve to facilitate and accelerate the new innovations coming from these mashups.
There’s an urgent need for a new participatory platform built for matching the two-sided market (enterprises and telcos). Alternative visions – to vote on. Welcome to CPaaS 2.0.

The Evolution of CPaaS
Stacy Stubblefield, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at TeleSign
As a two-factor authentication pioneer over a decade ago, TeleSign introduced new ways to verify online identities using the mobile phone number. The company grew to partner with the world’s largest digital enterprises in providing reliable one-time passcodes through their SMS and Voice APIs to global end-users. Through optimized routing operations, compliance expertise, strategic carrier relationship building and analysis of phone number data, the company became the trusted source for delivery of mission critical messaging.
Recognizing the value of the data behind a phone number, sourced through direct carrier connections, TeleSign evolved to offer additional APIs that enhanced the identity verification process by sourcing phone type, contact information, device info, deactivation status and other attributes that customers now use to support instant authentications of news users, further reduce fraud, and enhance their communications.
Bolstered by a 2017 acquisition by BICS, a leading international communications enabler, TeleSign now connects and protects companies and their end-users with accelerated and unmatched access to carrier data and reach for SMS, voice and data solutions around the globe.
Working consultatively with the product teams at the most prominent technology companies in existence, Stubblefield will discuss how she finds innovative ways bridge the digital and telco worlds to solve complex challenges and open endless possibilities.

Telestax Keynote: API and Fly: CPaaS enablement, creating a B2B ecosystem with Applications and Networks using APIs
Kevin Nethercott, VP Business Development at TeleStax
We are now in the midst of a major industry transition as communication becomes a feature built into a wide range of apps, experiences, and services, rather than simply a product unto itself. With key enterprise customers increasingly seeing new CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) companies as a means to more efficiently consume carrier resources, while enabling innovation - traditional carriers and service providers are keen to add API driven solutions to their own portfolios. Faced with the choice of buy, build, or partner, one of the strategic trends is the emergence of marketplaces where carrier service providers and app developers can join forces to deliver exciting solutions for customers. Will CPaaS put even more competitive pressures on service providers, or give them new ways to compete, collaborate, and innovate?
This presentation will discuss
* What key problems CPaaS solves for service providers
* What are the technical skills CPaaS demands
* Why a marketplace for CPaaS enables innovation
* How to successfully embrace the CPaaS opportunity and thrive

Modern Travel and Expense: The Connected Platform [Chicago]SAP Ariba
Managing employee travel and expenses is no longer just about streamlining processes. With changes in technology and workforce demographics, more and more purchasing power is being pushed directly to employees, decentralizing a once centralized part of the business. As a result, tracking and managing travel and expense is getting harder. An open platform that connects data, applications and people gives organizations and their employees the ability to effortlessly manage travel and expense and provides organizations with total transparency into spending – wherever and whenever it happens.

OTT & RCS:
Telecom industry is being challenged, it is fighting to stay relevant and business viable, required to continue showing growth and profitability. Challenges from players offering - VoIP, chat, video, SIM less devices, BYOD, and other rich media IP based services present a threat and an opportunity.
Carriers considering their strategy have two paths to consider: Internet based communication OTT and RCS by GSMA. Naturally Pro's and Con's for each solution. risks and benefits going hand in hand.
Yet, to large extent, OTT and RCS are complementary from value proposition and product offering. Considering from within Dual spear head approach can be relevant, effective and tangible tactical approach for many carries , MVNOs, MVNes and OEMs.
It’s hardly news that carriers traditional revenue streams are under threat, and the pressure to react and adapt is greater than ever. fring and the fring like, once a Foe or Frenemy are actually becoming true friends for the carriers.
With communication OTT high quality of service on 3G and LTE netwroks, with the boarder lines between carriers and enterprise getting blurry .... and with consumers seeking features and capabilities from their devices and provider beyond price. It is mandatory by carries to leap into the OTT space. It's a reality

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
