This presentation discusses the immense challenge of going from field studies in situ over to information architecture, sketching, wireframing, and having a graphical design created. However, to realize actual user value, we as UX Designers need to be able to communicate and deliver in a format that can be processed by the given development methodology - most often Agile in the form of SCRUM. The journey for UX designers should not end with a presentation of crisp comps done in Photoshop, but with actual, realized value for the target users. To accomplish this, the UX Designers strive to serve as the epicenter of knowledge-sharing, design and validation between the use domain, business, and development.

This document discusses challenges in assessing the value of user experience (UX) work for businesses. It notes that UX professionals often discuss problems within their own frame of reference rather than representing user and business priorities. The document advocates using Simon Sinek's "Golden Circle" framework to articulate the "Why" by linking UX goals like convenience and effectiveness to business priorities like revenue, costs and loyalty. It also suggests using both qualitative and quantitative methods like analytics and business cases to bridge the gap between these values. The overall message is that UX professionals need to better understand and convey user and business needs to demonstrate the value of their work.

This document discusses user experience (UX) design. It defines UX as encompassing all aspects of a user's interaction with a company, its services, and products. UX is composed of numerous micro interactions that should be informative, useful, emotional, delightful, humane, usable, and accessible. The document outlines some common misconceptions about UX, including that it is just about look and feel or usability. It emphasizes that UX is not a discrete activity but an ongoing process. It also discusses why UX is important for businesses to remain competitive and how UX can go wrong without following best practices such as understanding user needs, ideating concepts, and evaluating designs through testing.

Emergent synthetic processes (ESP) is a new paradigm for implementing process changes without needing agreement from all participants. It works by having organizational members define service descriptions stating what tasks they are willing to do and under what conditions. Processes are then synthesized in real-time from these service descriptions for each specific case, finding the optimal route through the organization. This allows service descriptions and partially completed processes to be updated at any time without requiring agreement. ESP enables a more flexible and distributed approach to processes and workflow.
This document discusses the integration of DCR (Dynamic Case Resolution) with the KMD Workzone case management platform to enable more automated and adaptive case resolution. It envisions using technologies like machine learning, artificial intelligence, and automation to handle more routine case activities while still allowing for human judgment and deviations from standard workflows. The approach is described as evolutionary rather than revolutionary, breaking large changes into smaller, configurable steps and getting users involved to identify automatable activities and ensure the system meets their needs. Demostrations are provided of Workzone's flexible configuration capabilities and how DCR could be integrated to iteratively introduce more automated case resolution over time.
