Communication Studies (10,100 NSF)
• Sociology, Social Work and Anthropology
(9,200 NSF)
• Anthropology Museum (5,100 NSF)
• Utah Public Radio (7,050 NSF)

• Although enrollment on the main campus has
increased significantly, CHaSS has not received
significant additional space over the past 15+
years.
• The existing programs are spread across campus
(Old Main, Veterinary Sciences, Eccles
Conference Center, Geology, Multimedia and
Distance Learning Services Building).
THE NEED

• The Department of Languages, Philosophy and
Communication Studies is the fastest growing
department in the college. Demand for languages
across majors is high.
• The Museum of Anthropology has high interest,
evidenced by a 70% increase in students earning
Museum Studies Certificates.
• Utah Public Radio operates in a limited space that
hampers day-to-day production.
