The document discusses using personas in service design to understand end users. It recommends six steps: 1) identify vital end users, 2) gather data about them, 3) define and redefine what the data means, 4) build personas, 5) use the personas to prioritize requirements and develop features, and 6) test products with real end users. The overall goal is to continuously keep the end user perspective in mind during design and development.

5 Steps to Creating Data-backed Personas for User Experience (UX) DesignAngela Obias
I've become a persona skeptic and it's because I've seen many an "imaginary" persona in my life.
I respect the integrity of personas, and I just really wanted to share, in my own little way, how anyone can apply personas to a web design project, using the actual data-based process.
We know the world changes and, in order to be competitive, so must your software. That’s why we invented continuous validation.
In this presentation we discuss how we came to the conclusion that continuous validation is urgently needed, where and when it should take place and how it works.
We think there is no need to have a discrepancy between building the right things and doing this the right way at the same time.
There's Only One Screen: How to Plan for Users Not DevicesAnna Hrach
Responsive design has quickly become a catch-all response to solving brands’ mobile challenges and addressing users’ needs. But are we unknowingly setting ourselves up to repeat history with style-over-substance-websites? See how ethology’s content strategy directors, Anna Hrach and Sarah Krznarich, discuss how we can stop looking at users based on their device and instead adopt a holistic content strategy to create one consistent experience.
Title: How Do You Know if Your Project Is Any Good?
Presented at All Things Open 2022
Presented by Avi Press & Emily Omier
Abstract: Are you, like many maintainers, struggling to get good data about who is actually using your project, how they are using it and why they downloaded it in the first place? Do you know how many users the project has, and whether those users even like it? Do you know what other technologies they use, what kinds of applications or workloads they use your project for or even what exactly they like (or dislike) about your project? In this talk, Avi Press will discuss ways to get quantitative data to get insights into who is using your project and what they are doing with it, and Emily Omier will talk about how to gather qualitative data on your project’s value and triggers that inspired adoption. Together, they’ll talk about how to use these two types of data to make better decisions about your outreach efforts, project roadmap and ultimate goals for the project.

Get Smart: The Present and Future of Data DiscoveryInside Analysis
Hot Technologies of 2013 with Bloor, Fitzgerald & Neutrino BI
Live Webcast July 17, 2013
http://www.insideanalysis.com
Somewhere in your data, discoveries wait to be found. Finding them can be quite a challenge, though, which is why data discovery gets so much attention these days. A whole array of tools is being promoted for data visualization and business discovery. But what are the component parts of this technology? And how can discovery tools be used to sift through vast amounts of data effectively? Register for this episode of Hot Technologies to find out!
Analysts Dr. Robin Bloor of The Bloor Group, and Jaime Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald Analytics will each offer their take on what constitutes a high-quality discovery tool. They'll then take a briefing from Jon Woodward of Neutrino BI, who will tout his company's platform for facilitating data discovery. He'll talk about the value of being able to go "direct to data" during the discovery process. He'll also outline their roadmap for developing a next-generation "smart" discovery platform.
This presentation is part of a Citrix Labs workshop introducing the concepts of rapid prototyping for developers. It focuses on the creation of early samples, models, or releases of a product built to test a concept or process or to act as a thing to be replicated or learned from.
Philip Illum Thonbo: Stay humble, start with problems - Digital Commerce at B...Boye & Co
Digital Commerce is changing the conversation from who and why to what if. Even though adoption rate seems fast, general consumer needs is still behind tech innovation. We stray away from looking into basic human needs, and start to wonder “what if?”
I'm pretty sure very few customers came to Jeff Bezos three years ago because they were annoyed that they weren’t able to walk into a store, grab whatever they needed, and walk out without actively interacting with a single person - or machine.
