- 6. PLAGIARISM AND SELF-PLAGIARISM Plagiarismis defined as using another person’s ideas or words without giving them proper credit. Re-using class assignments in other classes is a form of self-plagiarism. Plagiarism can be grounds for dismissal. - #14 ABI/Inform: “steve jobs”, apple, iphone; scholarly journalsThe APA rule is that the author and date ALWAYS stay together, but the page number follows immediately after the direct quote. A block quote does not use quotation marks. Also notice the difference in the period placement for the two quotes.
