Introduction of human sexuality
 It is a process by which people experience and express
themselves as sexual beings and has a consistent focus
of curiosity, interest and analysis of human kind.
 Sexuality is determined by anatomy, physiology, the
culture in which a person lives, relationships with
others, and developmental experiences throughout the
life cycle.
 It includes the perception of being male or female and
private thoughts and fantasies as well as behavior.
 Normal sexuality is devoid of inappropriate feelings of
guilt or anxiety and is not compulsive.
Physiological response
Desire
 The phase is characterized by sexual fantasies and the
conscious desire to have sexual activity.
 Desire may be biological driven OR
 Wish to bond sexually with particular partner
Excitement
 Brought on by
 psychological stimulation (fantasy or the presence of a
love object) OR
 physiological stimulation ( Foreplays-stroking or
kissing) OR combination of the two.
 Consists of
 Subjective sense of pleasure
 Objective signs of sexual excitement.
Orgasm
 Peaking of sexual pleasure,
 Release of sexual tension by Rhythmic contraction of
the perineal muscles and the pelvic reproductive
organs.
 A subjective sense of ejaculatory inevitability triggers
men's orgasms. The forceful emission of semen. 4 to 5
rhythmic spasms of the prostate, seminal vesicles, vas,
and urethra.
Resolution
 Resolution consists of the disgorgement of blood from
the genitalia (detumescence). Body back to its resting
state.
 If orgasm occurs: resolution is rapid, a subjective sense
of well-being, general and muscular relaxation.
Factors affect on male sexual
health
Prevalence of MSD
 Between 10-52% men at some point in their lives will
experience some types of sexual dysfunction.
 One study in journal of American Medical Association
(1999) found sexual dysfunction common in 31% of
men age 18 to 59.
Facts about Yoga
 YOGA is a Sanskrit word meaning UNION.
 Yoga is a life science not a religion
Types of YOGA
 Karma Yoga- utilise the body
 Jnana Yoga- utilise the mind
 Bhakti Yoga- Utilise the emotion
 Kriya Yoga- Utilise the energy
 Every individual is a unique combination of these four
factors.
Chakras and nadis
Yoga and general health
Mechanism of benefits
Yoga and sexual health
 In Tantric practices and Kundalini yoga, yoga is used as
a tool to prepare for the movement of kundalini energy.
In doing so, one may gain awareness of oneself and
release the energy that may be sustaining the source of
blockage or stagnation.
 Kundalini energy has been said to increase sexual
pleasure and extend the longevity of sex by facilitating
male orgasms without ejaculation
 physical postures and breathing exercises improve
muscle strength, flexibility, blood circulation and
oxygen uptake as well as hormone function and
decreases anxiety and stress
 the relaxation induced by meditation helps to stabilize
the autonomic nervous system with a tendency
towards parasympathetic dominance.
Yoga practices includes
 Cleansing processes (Kriya)
 Postures (Asanas)
 Controlled breathing (Pranayama)
 Meditation
 Relaxation
 Chanting mantras
Cleansing processes (Kriya)
 In tantric breathing technique, a variation of
Kapalbhati is recommended to prolong sexual
intercourse.
 Rapid puffing out of the air through the mouth
prolong ejaculation
Yoga posture and asanas
 Yoga posture emphasizes the relationship between
body, mind, and awareness. It focuses on the
synchronization of breathing and movement.
Standing pose
 Strengthen the pelvic area and tones the reproductive
organs.
 Improved circulation to the pelvic region.
 Develops the ability to retain seminal fluid and
prevents premature ejaculation.
 Garudasana (Eagle pose)
 Trikonasan (triangle pose)
 Uttanasana (standing forward bend)
 Vatayanasan (flying horse pose)
Trikonasana (The Triangle
poseture)
Seated poses
 Improve the health of the reproductive and urinary
system.
 circulation to the pelvic area.
 Improve the tone & flexibility of perineal and pelvic
muscles
 Seated poses more effective in PE.
 Facilitate higher arousal.
 Result in better and controlled orgasms.
 Yoga Mudra (forward bend)
 Janu Shirsasan (seated head-to-knee posture)
 Upavistha Konasan (wide-legged forward bend)
 Vajrasana (thunderbolt pose)
 Shashankasan (hare pose)
Vajrasana (Thunder bold pose)
Prone poses
 Strengthen the pelvic region.
 Tone the reproductive organs stimulates the sexual
energy centers.
 Facilitate stronger orgasm.
 Useful in arousal difficulties and PE.
 Shashank Bhujangasan (striking cobra pose)
 Bhujangasan (cobra pose)
 Dhanurasan (bow pose)
 Utthanpristhasan (lizard pose)
Bhujangasana (Cobra pose)
Supine poses
 Improve the tone & flexibility of perineal and pelvic
muscles [28].
 Strengthen the pelvic area and tone the reproductive
organs.
 Supta Vajrasan (sleeping thunderbolt pose)
 Setubandha Sarvangasan (bridge pose)
 Supta Baddha Konasan (reclining heel-to-heel pose)
 Matsyasan (fish pose)
Matsyasana (Fish pose)
Inversions
 Increase circulation to the pelvic organs.
 Prevent premature ejaculation.
 Improve the tone & flexibility of perineal & pelvic muscles .
 Promote the return of venous blood pooled in the big veins
and various venous plexuses in the region of pelvis and
perineum.
 Enhance the flow of fresh blood to the pelvic viscera
 Vipareet Karani (inverted pose)
 Sarvangasan (shoulder stand)
 Halasan (plough pose)
 Adhomukha Shvanasan (downward dog pose)
Halasana (Plough pose)
Relaxation
 Induces deep relaxation.
 Enhances focus, and energy and awareness.
 Shavasan (corpse pose)
Savasana (Corpes pose)
Pranayama (regulated breathing)
 Diaphragmatic breathing effectively reduces the
anxiety level through the reduced sympathetic activity
and enhanced vagal activity
 Slow breathing technique in pranayama causes
comprehensive changes in body physiology by
controlling the autonomic nervous system and
regularizes rate and pattern of breathing. It also
regulates heart rate and heart rate variability.
 Slow pranayama, such as
 Anulom-vilom (alternate nostril breathing),
 Chandranadi (left nostril breathing),
 Sitkari (cooling breaths), and
 Bhramari (humming bee breath)
improve cerebral blood flow and oxygenation. As a result,
neuronal activities of the brain centers improve
sympathovagal outflow
Moolabandha (Root lock)
 Moola bandha (Root lock) involves contraction of the
perineum, the area between the anus and genital
organs.
 Moola bandha stretches the pelvic floor muscles,
strengthens them, improves circulation, improves the
efficiency of pelvic and abdominal organs and
enhances awareness.
Ashwini mudra (horse gesture)
 Performed by contracting
the sphincter muscles of
the anus and then
relaxing them.
 can be practiced anytime,
anywhere in seated or
lying down position.
 It is believed to awaken
Kundalini Shakti and
useful for PE
Vajroli mudra (thunderbolt/spontaneous
psychic attitude)
 practiced by drawing the urethra
upward, the muscle action being
similar to holding back an
intense urge to urinate.
 According to yoga physiology,
Vajroli mudra regulates the
entire sexual system, regulates
testosterone level and sperm
production. It gives control over
PE and helps correct impotence
Take home massage
 Not a miracle cure for all problems
 Yoga is a holistic science and must be learnt and
practiced with a holistic approach.
 The dedicated practice of Yoga as a way of life is no
doubt a panacea for psychosomatic, stress related
disorders, as well as many sexual disorder.
 It has side effect so it should be practiced under
guidance.
May All become Happy,
May All be Free from Illness.
May All See what is Auspicious,
May no one Suffer.
Om Peace, Peace, Peace.

Orgasm:  Peaking of sexual pleasure,  Release of sexual tension  Rhythmic contraction of the perineal muscles and the pelvic reproductive organs.  A subjective sense of ejaculatory inevitability triggers men's orgasms. The forceful emission of semen. 4 to 5 rhythmic spasms of the prostate, seminal vesicles, vas, and urethra. Resolution:  Resolution consists of the disgorgement of blood from the genitalia (detumescence). Body back to its resting state.  If orgasm occurs: resolution is rapid, a subjective sense of well-being, general and muscular relaxation.  If orgasm does not occur : resolution may take from 2 to 6 hours and may be associated with irritability and discomfort.  After orgasm, men have a refractory period (several minutes to many hours)  they cannot be stimulated to further orgasm.  Women do not have a refractory period  They are capable of multiple and successive orgasms.
  2. Male sexual dysfunction (MSD) is a common disorder that appears to be a consequence of a wide range of physical and psychological conditions.
  3. All of these effects are associated with improvements in sexual response. the increased ability to minimize distraction and enhance awareness of the body to allow sensorial cues to be detected and integrated into conscious awareness is a major facet of why yoga might be helpful for enhancing sexuality.
  4. Kapalbhati, a breathing practice involving forced exhalation (through the nose) and passive, automatic inhalation (through the nose) is one of the kriya (cleansing process). Kapalbhati has been included as a part of the yoga protocol to improve sexual functions in males [18,33]. In tantric breathing technique, a variation of Kapalbhati is recommended to prolong sexual intercourse. This involves Kapalbhati practice through the mouth as the man approaches orgasm. This rapid puffing out of the air through the mouth is believed to change the blood chemistry and prolong ejaculation
