Simulation results are used to compare the new dq voltage modelling response to conventional direct – quadrature (dq) axes modelling response in direct torque control – space vector modulation scheme. The proposed model is compact, decreases the computation complexity and time. The model is useful especially in model based control implemented in real time, in terms of a simplified set of switching parameters.

This document is a dissertation submitted by Muhammad Azwan Ibrahim in partial fulfillment of the Bachelor of Engineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. The dissertation investigates the correlations between microstructure, nitrogen concentration and microhardness of nitrided ferritic stainless steel. Gas nitriding of ferritic stainless steel grade AISI 430 was carried out at 600°C for various time periods of 2 hours, 8 hours and 24 hours. Microstructure, microhardness and nitrogen concentration were analyzed using optical microscopy, Vickers hardness testing, SEM and EDS to study the effects of nitriding time. Increasing nitriding time was found to increase nitrogen diffusion and concentration in the steel, resulting in improved
How does ups works
An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provides backup power to devices when there is a disruption to the main power source. It consists of a rectifier that converts alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC), batteries that store the backup power, and an inverter that converts the stored DC power back to AC to power devices. UPS systems are available in various sizes, with small UPS providing power for a few minutes and large UPS able to power devices for several hours. The batteries determine how long the UPS can supply backup power. When the main power fails, the UPS seamlessly switches to the stored battery power to allow devices to shut down properly.

This paper evaluates the effect of different corona ring designs on electric field intensity near the live end of polymer insulators using 3D modeling software. Five corona ring designs with diameters ranging from 200mm to 425mm were modeled and tested. Both simulation and practical high voltage testing were performed. Simulation results found electric field intensities exceeded 3kV/mm at inception voltages that were generally within 10% of practical test values. Larger diameter rings had higher inception voltages. The research demonstrates how ring geometry influences electric field distribution and provides guidance for insulator design.

There are three main types of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS): offline UPS, online UPS, and line interactive UPS. Offline UPS has the fastest changeover time between battery and mains power, around 3-8 milliseconds. It uses an automatic voltage regulator to regulate output voltage. Line interactive UPS always has its inverter connected to the output and charges the battery when mains power is normal. Online UPS always runs on battery power whether mains power is present or not, using mains power to charge the battery when available.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
