Type 321 stainless steel is an alloy with higher nickel content than 304 stainless steel. It contains titanium which prevents chromium carbide precipitation during heating, preserving corrosion resistance. Type 321 responds well to cold working and has good welding properties without need for post-weld annealing. It has excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of corrosive conditions and temperatures up to 1500°F.
