The Civil War

Analyze Learners 
• Teaching the Civil War and its effects on America 
to 5th graders. There are 24 students: 10 girls 
and 14 boys. Of the 24 students, there are 4 
African American students, 2 Mexican American 
students, and 3 Asian American students.
Main Objective 
• My students will describe America before and 
after the Civil War and its effects on America by 
watching videos, reading stories and journals 
and articles, doing individual and group 
activities, and listening to a homemade robot by 
the end of the week with 90 % accuracy.

• Day 3: Major generals and battles of the Civil 
War 
• Day 4: Turning point of the Civil War
