5 KEY EVENTS OF THE CIVIL WAR
The activities you must complete for this assignment
are:
1. Reading and learning about the 5 events and answering open-
ended questions about each event.
2. Generating a visual timeline from the “Timeline” web page.
3. Completing a quizizz on this information (target score: 75% or
higher).
PREVIEWING 5 KEY EVENTS
On the slides ahead, you will learn about 5 key events of the Civil War. Your job
is to follow the instructions provided on each slide for the events. Some slides
will ask you to watch a video, or read a passage, or both. Every slide has
questions that you must answer. You should follow an outline form on your
sheet of paper to complete these questions. For example:

Grant, Robert E. Lee, and others who had a significant impact on events leading up to the war and during the Civil War. 3.4 – I can use maps to explain critical developments during the Civil War. State Standards: • SS.8.A.5.3- Explain major domestic and international economic, military, political, and socio- cultural events of Abraham Lincoln's presidency. • SS.8.A.5.4 - Identify the division (Confederate and Union States, Border states, western territories) of the United States at the outbreak of the Civil War. • SS.8.A.5.6- Compare significant Civil War battles and events and their effects on civilian populations
  • 3. 5 KEY EVENTS OF THE CIVIL WAR The activities you must complete for this assignment are: 1. Reading and learning about the 5 events and answering open- ended questions about each event. 2. Generating a visual timeline from the “Timeline” web page. 3. Completing a quizizz on this information (target score: 75% or higher).
  • 4. PREVIEWING 5 KEY EVENTS On the slides ahead, you will learn about 5 key events of the Civil War. Your job is to follow the instructions provided on each slide for the events. Some slides will ask you to watch a video, or read a passage, or both. Every slide has questions that you must answer. You should follow an outline form on your sheet of paper to complete these questions. For example: I. Event #1 A. Answer to question 1 B. Answer to question 2 II. Event #2 A. Answer to question 1 B. Answer to question 2 …... The last activity before the quizizz asks you to create a timeline on a webpage, but you must use a laptop to do this.
