Bilal created a music video for his unit 21 project, choosing the song "I See Fire" by Ed Sheeran. He faced challenges with his original production schedule and story due to a lack of assistance from actors and not having permission to film in desired locations. Bilal was able to modify his story and find new filming locations. His pre-production went well since he had envisioned making this music video for a long time. Bilal acknowledges that timing and editing are weaknesses for him, as he spends a lot of time perfecting each clip. For future projects, he will find a better time that works for everyone and try to obtain better equipment for smoother shots.

Next time I will find a suitibal time for

3. What I did.
For my Unit 21 Project I decided
to do a Music Video. This was
very hard from start to finish
from pre production to filming,
because although I had my
ideas and Synopsis in my head I
still a had to modify a lot of
things to get the project to work.
For example; changing the story,
time and editing.
It was also difficult to film as the
locations and areas I wanted to
film on I had no promotion to do
so. Also this affected the video
due to not having the right
resources, but in my opinion it
still wasn’t bad at all. Strengths
were that ended up on a better more
realistic roof then planed out and was
able to get much better shots from
the roof scene.

4. Did I do it like it was planed?
Deleted scenes. The main story:
 No but not dramatically different
at all. The original Synopsis was
changed as it was much to
complex and time confusing for
the time I had and being able to
fit it all into the length of the song
(4:48). This was a massive drop
in my production schedule as I
had to delete a lot of scenes and
change my schedule actors.
however I managed to figure out
a way of changing most of the
script to the video that you know.

5. My initial ideas.
 My initial idea was to film all the
scenes where I needed assistance or
actors in the Easter holidays, and all
other scenes that I could do myself on
the bank holiday. This did not go to
plan because of lack of assistance
and actors which I had planed in
advance. Also we were all in the time
of exam period which me and my
crew were doing in the middle of my
production schedule so this
inconvenience affect my Music Video
but this dose not mean the final
project came out bad at all it just
came out different to expected.
 In this time I wasn’t able to film
conveniently I was able to start thing
about what I was going to change and
was able to think of new locations.

 I found that my Pre Production wasn’t
to difficult as I knew exactly where I
was going to film and if there where to
be any inconveniences I had back up
locations, it was just permission that I
needed to have the use to be able to
film in these locations.
 My planning also went well because I
have always had this Idea and
thought of making it into a Music
video so Unit 21 was a perfect
opportunity for this. So knowing what I
was doing in advance gave me a real
step forward in planning.
 I did all my Pre Production trying to
make my shots at a very different
angle every shot I did to make sure it
wasn’t to boring to watch as it is a
very cinematic opining. My time was
well managed during this proses I
could rely on my own timing and was
able to fit this in time with other
situations like exams.

 I believe that I did well; The shot types; As much as I
wanted to film I couldn’t because I was the only one who
could act in it as I felt I knew the character as I created
him. So I gave all the shot types that I wanted to film to
get my filmer James Baldwin to do, And he helped
achieve what I was looking for. James Said “I found the
music video that it flowed very well having establishing
shots shown with cinematic shots throughout the music
video which made it feel very professional. Very good
well done.”
 I am happy that my final project went well, and some of
my other strengths such as acting and editing the music
and others went well to.

8. Weaknesses!
A week point for me is timing
and editing and of how they
both link in with each other.
Now my editing isn't bad, its
is just not good enough for
what I would like to be
capable of. Now this links
into time and how I loose a
lot of it when editing because
I am some times a bit of a
perfectionist when it comes
to each individual clip, so if I
was faster at editing, I would
have more time to do my
other work like this
evaluation.

9. What will I do next time.
 Next time I will find a
suitable time for
everyone and try not
to get Media to
interfere when other
things are going on.
Also I will try and get
better equipment to
get smoother and
better shots, this
would also make me
have an increase in
time when it comes to
editing.
