Evaluation
During this unit one of the first ideas we had to come up with as a group was the name of
the marketing company. I put forward as my idea Invictus marketing with the slogan
‘Unconquerable ideals’ , I thought that this was a good idea as it shows the consumer that
the products we produce are of high quality and made to a high standard and the slogan
itself shows that we take time and fully consider and evaluate all the ideas we produce.
However, as a group we decided on a different name and slogan for our marketing idea, as
we thought that it would be harder to come up with a suitable logo for my marketing idea.
Instead we chose to go for one of my colleague’s ideas which were Phoenix Marketing, we
decided as a group to choose this as it was a good name itself and the slogan “Resurrecting
lost ideas” was catchy went well with the company name and logo.
When it came to the idea for the gum brand I decided to go for a design that would fully in-
cooperate colours and elements of design that are not only fully relevant to our gum brand
but also highlight the original principles, and creative outlook that embody our brand.

As a group for each stage of this unit we decided to split the individual responsibilities so
that all the group shared and completed an equal section of the task, we also tried to make
sure that sometimes as a group we made sure that some members completed certain areas
that they were especially good at or that were their strengths. For instance whilst preparing
for the pitch we assigned as a group over the course of a discussion individual roles for each
team member, and we all were in charge of developing our own sections of the script. I
believe that my own input in group discussions and other tasks was on the whole good as I
was able to complete my work and put forward creative ideas that influenced the
development of the product. I think that certain areas were to my strengths such as creating
creative ideas that were relevant to our company’s outlook and purpose in the market – the
look and style of packaging should be sleet and stylish to attract our target audience.
Furthermore I think that my editing for the print advert was sufficient enough to say that it
represented our products nature through the use of a skydiver which highlighted the
adrenaline fuelled nature of the gum. Moreover although the editing on Photoshop that I
needed to do may have been slightly rudimental it still enabled me to use the advert as a
forefront for the brand’s stylistic entrance to the market and the bold impression I hope it
will make on not only the target population of consumers but also the general population.
From an objective point of view I think that the group pitch went well, we were able to
conceive to the class our brands ideology and what we hope to achieve in the future with
our gum. In addition to this we were able to reveal to our class a taster of our brand
through our advertisement which defined our gum through a thorough look at the main
principles behind our gum i.e. exhilaration. Furthermore the feedback we received from our
class was on the whole positive which illustrates that we were able to please the primary
audience for the gum.
If I had the chance to retake this specific assignment again I would make sure that we went
through the developmental stages quicker and with higher degree of efficiency as I believe
that this would have enable the group as a whole to spend more time on the latter stages of
the unit i.e. Filming and editing the advert as well as making our print advertisements.
