The dark shadows echo the depth of thought going through the students minds and the light demonstrate the hope that lies within them. The photos focus on their facial expression with the rest of the photo being simple and not the main feature.
- 5. ‘COLD FACES’ – THE PHOTOS The photo on the left focuses on the dark shadows and the background is vastly out of focus. On the other hand the photo on the right highlights the light colours with the background being more in focus and very little shadows on the face.

It strikes you straight away that more can be read into it. This is what makes the photo so simple yet so unique.
