Overall the Clientlikedthe conceptandthe wayIexecutedthe ideasIhadinmy treatment.My
realisticsettingand themesintriguedthe clientandsparkedconversationsintogenderandsexual
equality,due tomyuse of the word‘they’insteadof usinggenderspecificpronouns. The voice overs
to showanxietyanddepressionalsosparkedthe conversationaboutmentalhealth,especiallyin
teens.The clientmade positive comments aboutthe factthat myscript wasthought-provokingand
was veryrelevanttonow.The maincorrectionsformy scriptfromthe clientwere the wordingand
overall structure of the script.Thisistherefore aweaknesswhenIcame towritingthe script.The
clientsuggested thatthe wordingof some sectionsof myscript couldbe made clearer,forexample
‘boredthensuddenlyremembering’.Ithenchangedthese sectionsusingsuggestionsfromthe
client,forexample,Itookoutthe word‘bored’andusedlanguage inthe stage directionsbeforethis
to suggestboredom,suchasdescriptionsof bodylanguage andfacial expressions. Opposingthis,the
clientlovedthe detailwithinthe descriptioninthe stage directions,throughoutthe scriptalongwith
the use of a voice overto enhance the themesof anxietyanddepression.
I feel thatI have met the expectationsof the client,thisisdue tothe fact that theyexpectedme to
produce an industrystandardscriptfora 10 minute filmtouchingoncorrectandrelevantissueswith
teenagers.ThisiswhatI toldthe clientduringthe pitchandI feel Ihave metthisdue to the fact the
client,duringthe 1:1 meetings,saidthatthe filmisextremelythought-provokinginseveraldifferent
ways. I metthe expectationsandneedsof the brief asonthe ‘Shortof the Week’websitethey
specifythattheylookforfilmsthatmake people think‘aboutsomethinginanew way’,‘stirus
emotionally’andshowgreat‘craftsmanship’.These are all relevanttomyfilm.Myfilmsparks
conversationsaboutpersonal andemotional issues,suchasidentityandmental health,itshowsthe
path an everydayteenagergoesdownwheneffectedbymental healthmakingothersseethe
struggle theycango through,and the use of a naturalisticsettingandthenthe stylisticuse of a voice
overof the character’sthoughtsput togethertwodifferentstylesof filmmaking.Thirdly,Ifeel Ihave
metthe needsof my chosentargetaudience asmyclientmentionedhow itletsthe audience see
howthe character feelsandhowshe dealswitheverydaylife.Mypeers,whoreadthe script,agree
