This document provides an introduction to data mining concepts and techniques. It discusses why data mining is necessary due to the explosive growth of data from various sources. Data mining involves the automated analysis of massive datasets to discover hidden patterns and knowledge. It is part of the broader knowledge discovery process that includes data cleaning, integration, selection, mining, and pattern evaluation. Data mining draws from multiple disciplines including database technology, statistics, machine learning, and pattern recognition to extract useful insights from large, complex datasets.
Introduction to Data Mining(Chapter 1)......Data Mining concepts and techniques by R. Deepa (IT) ..Batch(2016-2019) published on Oct-13 2018 from NS college of Arts and Science,Theni
A look back at how the practice of data science has evolved over the years, modern trends, and where it might be headed in the future. Starting from before anyone had the title "data scientist" on their resume, to the dawn of the cloud and big data, and the new tools and companies trying to push the state of the art forward. Finally, some wild speculation on where data science might be headed.
Presentation given to Seattle Data Science Meetup on Friday July 24th 2015.
A brief intro on the idea of what is Big Data and it's potential. This is primarily a basic study & I have quoted the source of infographics, stats & text at the end. If I have missed any reference due to human error & you recognize another source, please mention.

Big Data is a new term used to identify datasets that we can not manage with current methodologies or data mining software tools due to their large size and complexity. Big Data mining is the capability of extracting useful information from these large datasets or streams of data. New mining techniques are necessary due to the volume, variability, and velocity, of such data.
We are good IEEE java projects development center in Chennai and Pondicherry. We guided advanced java technologies projects of cloud computing, data mining, Secure Computing, Networking, Parallel & Distributed Systems, Mobile Computing and Service Computing (Web Service).

Understanding Globus Data Transfers with NetSageGlobus
NetSage is an open privacy-aware network measurement, analysis, and visualization service designed to help end-users visualize and reason about large data transfers. NetSage traditionally has used a combination of passive measurements, including SNMP and flow data, as well as active measurements, mainly perfSONAR, to provide longitudinal network performance data visualization. It has been deployed by dozens of networks world wide, and is supported domestically by the Engagement and Performance Operations Center (EPOC), NSF #2328479. We have recently expanded the NetSage data sources to include logs for Globus data transfers, following the same privacy-preserving approach as for Flow data. Using the logs for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) as an example, this talk will walk through several different example use cases that NetSage can answer, including: Who is using Globus to share data with my institution, and what kind of performance are they able to achieve? How many transfers has Globus supported for us? Which sites are we sharing the most data with, and how is that changing over time? How is my site using Globus to move data internally, and what kind of performance do we see for those transfers? What percentage of data transfers at my institution used Globus, and how did the overall data transfer performance compare to the Globus users?

Providing Globus Services to Users of JASMIN for Environmental Data AnalysisGlobus
JASMIN is the UK’s high-performance data analysis platform for environmental science, operated by STFC on behalf of the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). In addition to its role in hosting the CEDA Archive (NERC’s long-term repository for climate, atmospheric science & Earth observation data in the UK), JASMIN provides a collaborative platform to a community of around 2,000 scientists in the UK and beyond, providing nearly 400 environmental science projects with working space, compute resources and tools to facilitate their work. High-performance data transfer into and out of JASMIN has always been a key feature, with many scientists bringing model outputs from supercomputers elsewhere in the UK, to analyse against observational or other model data in the CEDA Archive. A growing number of JASMIN users are now realising the benefits of using the Globus service to provide reliable and efficient data movement and other tasks in this and other contexts. Further use cases involve long-distance (intercontinental) transfers to and from JASMIN, and collecting results from a mobile atmospheric radar system, pushing data to JASMIN via a lightweight Globus deployment. We provide details of how Globus fits into our current infrastructure, our experience of the recent migration to GCSv5.4, and of our interest in developing use of the wider ecosystem of Globus services for the benefit of our user community.
Listen to the keynote address and hear about the latest developments from Rachana Ananthakrishnan and Ian Foster who review the updates to the Globus Platform and Service, and the relevance of Globus to the scientific community as an automation platform to accelerate scientific discovery.

Evolution of Sciences
• Before 1600, empirical science
• 1600-1950s, theoretical science
– Each discipline has grown a theoretical component. Theoretical models often motivate
experiments and generalize our understanding.
• 1950s-1990s, computational science
– Over the last 50 years, most disciplines have grown a third, computational branch (e.g.
empirical, theoretical, and computational ecology, or physics, or linguistics.)
– Computational Science traditionally meant simulation. It grew out of our inability to find
closed-form solutions for complex mathematical models.
• 1990-now, data science
– The flood of data from new scientific instruments and simulations
– The ability to economically store and manage petabytes of data online
– The Internet and computing Grid that makes all these archives universally accessible
– Scientific info. management, acquisition, organization, query, and visualization tasks scale
almost linearly with data volumes. Data mining is a major new challenge!
