Government Mandates / District Initiatives Instructional • Maintain all existing programs & services • Continue priority on class size • Support Common Core State Standards • understanding for English Language Arts and Math • Implement PARCC readiness plan Partnership of Assessment for Readiness of College and Careers (PARCC) • Furnish ongoing professional development across grades and content areas • Expand iPad and laptop purchases for teaching, learning, and assessment • Provide ongoing support for teacher and principal evaluation models • Added gymnasium to Reeds Road (programmatic and equity issue) • Continue to fulfill requirement for Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB) Non-Instructional • Budgeted $750,000 and $450,000 in capital reserve during FY2014 and 2015 • Deposited $2,662,547 into capital reserve during the past three years • Met increased costs with minimal assistance in the form of state aid ($66,480 increase for 14-15 – 0.11% of general fund budget) • Implemented Chapter 78 of PL 2011 (employee health benefit contributions) – direct savings to taxpayers of $725,000 for FY15 • Completed Arthur Rann storm water system replacement/parking lot refurbishment • Replaced the roofs at four elementary schools over the past four years • Utilized ROD (regular operating district) grants for three of the four roofing projects (grants not available for Arthur Rann • Installed completely new phone system throughout the district • Maintained safe, healthy schools through annual and rotating facilities and custodial work • Upgraded generator and HVAC at various schools
