Deloitte - Automate this: The business leader’s guide to robotic and intellig...UiPath
We have seen it in the movies...we have read fantastical futuristic fiction about it as youngsters in school...and now it is upon us: Robots performing human tasks.
The future posed by visionary film creators and novelists is still a bit further away, but the technological advancements which could make it possible are coming, and potentially with great speed. There is a buzz around how robots can transform business processes. We have been talking for years about robots — the droids that mimic humans in a factory — but now we are on the verge of seeing robots that replicate the human brain, rather than only arms and legs. Just like their physical cousins transformed manufacturing, these “virtual” robots are likely to change the way we run our business processes.
RPA Vendors report ITCentralStation - May 2019UiPath
UiPath is the Top solution for Enterprise Robotic Process Automation (RPA) according to IT Central Station reviews and rankings.
One reviewer says, "Anything you can do on a computer with enough effort, you can get the robot to do it," and another: "There's a 100% reduction in human errors. The bot doesn't make any errors."
Robotic process automation is an emerging form of business process automation technology based on the notion of metaphorical software robots or artificial intelligence workers.
Robotic Process Automation RPA Report From IT Central Station - Septeber 2019UiPath
Built for both business and IT, UiPath is the leading platform for Enterprise Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
UiPath is recognized worldwide for product leadership and technical excellence. With the largest development team in the
industry, we are dedicated to continuously deliver innovation year-round to accelerate your value from automation.
RPA takes over necessary processes — highly transactional, rules-based yet low-valued work — that have typically been performed by humans, and it is most successful when the process owners create the automation modules, which are then combined to build a completely new end-to end workflow.
Interestingly, we see a significant number of agency leaders from the business side adopting UiPath’s RPA technology. That is
good news for IT-led transformation efforts, which can sometimes lag when those in charge of business operations are not
actively involved.

Even though RPA is only now starting to mature, adding Artificial Intelligence to it will allow the creation of a true digital workforce that will automate activities typically characteristic to knowledge workers. An application such as Intelligent Process Automationconverges AI, RPA and other cognitive tools to enhance productivity. The quality of work will provide service continuity and availability and will reduce costs. AI will be responsible for the “thinking” component of the digital workforce. It will create the new rules for machine learning and will perform supervised learning, reinforcement learning, and unsupervised learning. AI will trigger RPA, which will be handle workflows and APIs, computer command scripts and mechanical robotics.

Welcome to the Automation First Era: Your Guide to a Thriving EnterpriseUiPath
We’ve now entered the “automation first” era. Digital transformation is quickly becoming the status quo as businesses migrate their core business processes and workflows to digital and cloud-based platforms. Under this new operational framework, pervasive automation can propel companies to new heights of efficiency and productivity, while reducing the cost of doing business. Companies that embrace an automation first mindset — ie, if something can be automated, it should be automated — will position themselves to thrive in this new era. With that in mind, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is more than a tool for efficiency — it’s an agent of organizational change and evolution. This presentation breaks down RPA’s growing importance, and provides guidance on how to implement this technology and maximize your return on investment (ROI).

At the recent STPCon Spring 2017 held March 14-17, Capital One's Eli Stull gave the closing keynote. His presentation focused on performance testing in the evolving API economy.
This document explains the features and insights that can be extracted and helps you understand the kind of problems it solves in the Technology industry
SaaS adoption has proliferated across nearly every industry vertical and business function to the point where it is now nearly ubiquitous throughout the economy. This has created multiple market opportunities for businesses utilizing an “API-first” strategy, whereby they offer new products or services via API that complement existing SaaS applications or they use API technology to break down data silos and connect what would otherwise be disparate data sets. A handful of first-movers have capitalized on a subset of these opportunities in both products & services (e.g., Twilio in voice & text, Stripe in payments) and data aggregation (e.g., MuleSoft for enterprises, Plaid for FinTech / financial institutions). We believe this dynamic is still in its early days and that there will be many future opportunities for growth investors with strong SaaS experience to partner with these businesses.
To capitalize on this trend, Catalyst is exploring businesses participating in the “API Economy”, which we define as companies doing any of the following:
1. Pursuing an “API-first” product or go-to-market strategy (e.g., Twilio, Stripe, Algolia, MapBox)
2. Utilizing APIs to connect data silos (e.g., MuleSoft, Plaid, Zapier, Segment, Redox, Trulioo)
3. Enabling the development and maintenance of APIs (e.g., Apigee, Kong, SmartBear)
At Catalyst, we employ a proactive, research-based approach to investing, targeting sectors experiencing outstanding growth. If you are an owner, operator, or investor of a growth stage company participating in the API Economy, we would like to hear from you. Please send inquiries and business plans to grady@catalyst.com.
DevOps is the offspring of agile software development practices. It was born from the need to bring about an increased software velocity and throughput agile methods. Advancements in agile culture have brought about the need for a more holistic approach to the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle.
DevOps practices are characterized by increased collaboration with different teams within an organization, decreasing silos of teams, shared responsibility of code delivery, improving quality of delivery and deployment, monitoring feedback, and thus, increasing automation.

10 Digital Marketing Trends covering different tools to help digital marketers in 2015. Presented by Dave Chaffey at the Smart Insights Digital Impact conference.
Desktop management has always been the talking point for companies as they can save costs by deploying innovative technologies and models. While some firms have resorted to technologies like Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Remote Desktop Services (RDS), one more contemporary desktop delivery model, called Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS), has gradually evolved. Providing access to desktops anytime anywhere forms the basis of DaaS wherein these desktops are on cloud. However, this report provides information on how particular types of DaaS will fare in the market and which model would be best to invest in as an end- user of the technology.
This report presents interpretative and easy-to-understand facts on how the current DaaS market is segmented based on end-user verticals, product types, delivery models, and geographies. It cuts through several facets of the DaaS market such as market size, market share for each segment, and the drivers and constraints of this marketplace.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
