2. The project Youth to Action The Ministry of Social Affairs has the aim that nobody should be unemployed for more than three months without being offered a job, study opportunity, job training or participation in some project.

5. MK in Kópavogur Icelandic, chef and waiter: Icelandic, cooking, waiting tables, bartender, computers, history and culture of Iceland. Icelandic handicrafts and design: Icelandic, computers, knitting, sewing and designing.
6. Mímir School for settlers:Lots of Icelandic, society and culture, computer lessons, real-competence folder. For those who have finished at least 2 levels of Icelandic.
7. Courses in English Operation of construction equipment Small-trucker course C1 Computers for beginners Computers – advanced
8. Operation of construction equipment: Taught in english, material in icelandic. Gives you the right to take exams for all types and sizes of construction machinery. Small-trucker course C1: Taught in english, material in icelandic. The course gives you right to take the exam for the C1 licence to drive a truck up to 7500 kg, with seats for 8 passangers.
9. Computers - beginners: Taught in English, general computer skills and windows. Word, Excel, Internet, facebook and e-mail. Computers - advanced:Taught in English. for people that know the basics. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Digital photography.
10. Voluntary work Icelandic Redcross: Great variety of work. World-wide friends: Environment protection with volunteers from Europe. Youth in Action: 3 to 12 months in another country. Completely free within Europe – flight, housing, food, pocket-money and a language-course.
11. Study contract with VMST Office Skills Programme: MK in Kópavogur, at night from 17:30 to 20:30. We pay the school fee. Find an interesting course for your self!
12. Study grant: For studies that improve your possibilities to get work. We pay 50% of the course, maximum 70.000 kr. Labour union too. Job training: You find an interesting workplace. 3 to 6 months contract. Minimum wage or higher. Develop your own business idea: Work on your business idea for up to 6 months. Individual counselling: Help with job seeking or anything else. CV making: We help you to make a good CV. Job seeking abroad: E-303 within Europe.
13. Part-time and occational work Salary less than 59.047 kr does NOT affect benefits. 50% of salary over 59.047 kr is withdrawn from benefits. You have to let know about this work BEFORE you do it.
14. Keep looking for a job! Read announcements in the newspapers. Read announcements on the internet. Go to the company and ask for an interview. Send your CV to interesting companies. Fill out application on homepages of companies. Send your CV with it. Register with all the job agencies.

16. The selection will be done NOW! Please select 2 - 3 options on your paper. The completed paper is handed to the counsellor. Counsellor will contact you by e-mail/smswhen the activity starts.
