Flamenco dress making was my first Erasmus project I’ve ever experienced. When I was told that I’m
going to visitSpain, I was indescribably happy. My first experience with Spain was in Málaga city, on
the airport, where one of our students found out that she’s lost her wallet. She had to talk to police,
but then we went to the bus, that were supposed to take us to Seville. Way to Seville took us about
two hours, then we had welcome session with Beatka, our coordinator, and then we had dinner. First
day here inSeville felt amazing. In the morning, after breakfast, we took a bus to the historical center.
We got lost, so we asked the boy on the bus stop to help us. He was so nice, he took us to the city and
we became friends. That day, afternoon, we had first practice, and as a photographer here, I started
doing shots of the classmates, who was getting explain how to do Flamenco dress and we also saw
presentation of history of flamenco dress. We also had Spanish courses, we learned basics of Spanish
language and I have to admit it was pretty handy. As the times goes by and we didn’t even notice and
it’s the end of the Erasmus project, we passed Spanish test, me and my classmate Beky did about a
few thousands of shots and the girls finished their dresses. The whole experience here in Seville
learned us team work, communication and we discovered whole new culture, new amazing people.
(Big thanks to Beatka, Loly, Anna and Gema)

I can’t believe what I’ve experienced these past days. One of my million dreams come true. I have
experienced my first flight ever; it is my first time in Spain. I have never thought that I will be the one
to go.
Spain is gorgeous country. Local nature is different as in Slovakia, there are palms on the streets and
planting the oranges in the streets is really interesting. Shool system is also different. First few days
in Sevillade Moda were harder. I couldn’t say a word in Spanish. We were introduced to señorita Loli,
who explained to us how to make patterns for flamenco dress. She also showed u show to make
ruffles. Shes very smart woman. She took us to the big textile shop. With Anna, second tutor, we were
drawing and sketching designs of flamenco dress. She also showed us spanish traditions and history
of flamenco dress. Best part of it all was practice lessons with Gema. She is very friendly and she
knows how to talk to students our age. She is always kind, smiling and most importantly, she knows
how to sew dress. When my group had a problem, she was always there for us. Today we finished
our dress and it is amazing.
Big thanks goes to our teachers and Beata, who translated for us and was very helpful. As I already
mentioned, my dream came true and I have a lot of new experience. I will definitely use ruffles
patterns back in Slovakia. I am flattered that I could visit and once I definitely will come back.

Our coordinator Beátka was waiting for us at the residence. She explained everything about it. Next
day we were at school and met with our new Spanish teachers - Ana, Loly and Gema. We saw
presentations and knew a lot of new information about Spain, Spanish culture and flamenco dress. It
was very interesting for me. After that we could design our own fashion drawings and the teachers
chose one which was final for realize. Our next task was to create groups in which we will realize our
own flamenco dresses. Then we visited a big shop that name is Flamentex. There we with teachers
chose and bought materials which were perfect for our dresses. And then we started to make our
dresses. It was very difficult, but the teachers were very nice. Their positive mood was very helpful
for me. I learned to sew ruffles and I enjoyed it. My next experience was a fashion show in Carmona
on Tuesday. I am really happy I saw it and I could be there. On Thursday we finished creating
flamenco dresses. All the dresses were really very beautiful and all the groups finished it on time. I
am proud that I acquired new skills in sewing. I will miss Seville very much.

All the professors were very nice and especially great professionals for making flamenco dresses. I
really liked their patience in explaining, and they were always in a good mood. I am very grateful for
the opportunity to work with a person like Gema. Our communication was complicated, we tried to
communicate without words, and it was very funny, but mostly we understood each other. Although
due to the language barrier I had difficulty understanding how we would do the dress at the
beginning, everything was perfectly explained to me in the process, and we managed to make the
dress in the group in an incredible two weeks! The dress looks amazing and, thanks to professional
help, it fits beautifully. Sewing flamenco clothes gave me a lot of experience, and I am a little better at
sewing.

On the first day as we arrived inSpain has happened a lot of things and I was tired. The first time, the
school looked nice. I believed that I will have a lot of experience. It was even fulfilled after time. The
professor that I met was very kind and sympathetic. They were willing to help us. I liked it the most.
They explained everything to us without using words. They give us a job sewing Flamengo Dress. It
came to me as a challenging thing, but it was easier than I thought. I got a lot of experience. In one
day we were have designed clothes in the group. On the next day, we went to buy clothes at
Flamentex. There was a huge choice. It was fantastic. I have very enjoyed the realization. We divided
work and we had no problems. We manage to finish everything and create a beautiful dress on the
time. I will never forget this experience and people. I do not have anything that I did not like. We have
completed two trips. The first trip was to Alhambra. We were not here too long and I did not have
time to see everything but it was a wonderful place. The next trip was on the beach. When I first saw
huge water I went to go tears. the first time I was at the sea and it was wonderful. I will definitely
come back here. I have very enjoyed this place and I am very glad for this opportunity.

1.Participant’s opinion about his/her personal & professional development
To be honest I was a little bit nervous and anxious about this project. But the first day we went to
school blew those feelings and thoughts away. I was genuinely surprised and pleased by the
appearance of the school. But not just that. The teachers who worked with us were extremely kind
and supportive, although we didn’t understand directly what they were saying. It didn’t even matter
at the end. Thanks to that we had a lot of fun with communication without words. That showed me
how simpleand understanding the communication can be even if we don’t speak the same language.
About flamenco itself, I’ve got the opportunity to dive into this beautiful culture more. I learned a ton
of new facts that are hopefully going be useful to me in the future. We were surprised while buying
all important materials for the dresses. All of us were shocked by the variety of different materials,
colours and styles we got to choose from. We can only dream about this back at home. I was a little
bit stressed while preparing and then sewing the dress. It was a lot of work that had to be done fast.
I was a little bit frustrated the few last lessons because I thought we wouldn’t be able to finish
everything on the time and I cried a bit. But I learned to work faster which is really beneficial to me.
I have to say that I got a lot of help from the teachers and that’s why we were able to finish the dress
at the right time. I’m happy how our ideas became drawings and then beautiful dress just how we
imagined. I would call my experience wonderful at the end. This experience moved me forward in
my life. It gave me a little too much but in a good way. If I’d have opportunity, I would definitely do
this project again. Maybe would be better in Spanish the next time.

1. Participant’s opinion about his/her personal & professional development
This was one unreal experience. Spain was a country I always wanted to see. And combining it with
sewing and designing that I enjoy is like a dream come true. When I heard we were going to sew
flamenco dresses, to be honest, I was very nervous. After all, wedo not have much experience because
of the covid. From the first moment I came to school on Monday, all the stress fell away from me.
There was a lot of positive energy everywhere. I felt good about it. First, we meet Loli. After the
agreement, we agreed that I would be a model. I really could not imagine going to be a model. Later
that day we met Anna. To this day, I will remember her gorgeous shirt. Anna showed us a
presentation on the history of flamenco. I have never heard about Feria so again a very good
experience. I never knew why, where or when was the dress worn. With Anna, we also made dress
designs. Ours were green with short sleeves with large ruffles at the feet and lined with lace. Our
team has also come up with an idea of a mustard-coloured scarf and burgundy tassels and a crown
of real flowers on the head. We wanted to keep it in such colours because Spain is all about earthy
colours. When we first came I saw these colours and it gave me a Spanish vibe. When we had with
Anna and Loli a selected design and cut, we went to buy fabrics. Unreal materials, patterns and
colours. From the most classic to the most illustrated. I could not resist either and I bought one fabric
for myself. After choosing the fabrics, the next day we met an amazing person, Gema. We spent a lot
of time with Gema. I was very nervous but Gema is an amazing person, very smiling and kind.

From the beginning when we came to Sevilla, I knew that I was grateful for the amazing opportunity
I got. We have started a very interesting theme right on Monday with a very friendly teacher Lola
that explained to us that how patterns were made and how they looked like. It was very interesting
because it was all new to me. The other day teacher Anna explained the history of flamenco dress and
traditions. I learned some new things but at the same time, I already knew something since I learned
some things on my own. When we designed our first sketch of the flamenco dress, our group was
inspired by Slovakia so our dress was in colours of Slovakian flag. We agreed on the style of the dress
very quickly and there were some elements from our Slovak folk dress. When we presented our
design to all of the teachers, they really liked them so much. I was really relieved. And since we had
our sketch, we started doing the pattern. We have chosen a beautiful, tall and slim model so the
pattern was very easy to make. Then everything went quickly and after some days our dress was
already done. Of course, we made them with huge assistance from great teachers, ours or from
Spanish. I am very grateful for their help. For the sewing part, there was great Gemma who supported
us and was very helpful either by her positivity or her advice. While we were sewing this dress I have
learned a lot of new things that will definitely help me in the future when I am going to sew
something. Of course, when we had some free time we went out to the city to get to know Sevilla a
little bit. We found wonderful buildings and monuments or small beautiful shops. I bought a lot of
souvenirs.

First, we had a lesson with Anna, who gave information to us about the basin of flamenco dresses and
in general with the feria holiday. The lecture was very interesting and attractive. We have heard the
history of flamenco and this information I´m sure that this knowledge we will use later in our future.
In the next lesson, we devised our own design for flamenco dresses in groups. We were four in our
group. We had lessons of practice with teachers Gema and Loli which inthe first days explained to us
the basic cut of flamenco nets from which we created our own cut for dresses, which we designed for
one selected model from our group. Each group had its own model. We were in the city doing
shopping the basic materials making our clothes, which was a great experience for me.
After pre-preparation, we started sieving our clothes. We chose the colours of the Slovak flag, we
tried to incorporate traditional Slovak elements into the total look. We divided the work, everyone
had something to do. The lessons of practice were very pleasant, we learned a lot of new interesting
things and useful. In my opinion, everyone can be proud of their final result.

My first visit to Spain took place thanks to the Erasmus project. I had the opportunity to go to art
school for two weeks where an adult improve their skills and become fashion designers. This
experience has taught me a lot and showed me a more beautiful way of learning. The school is well
equipped and looks elegant and luxurious inside and out. There are nice, skilful and helpful teachers.
Going to this school would be a pleasure. First, we learned how flamenco dress looks and how cuts
are made. We attended a presentation about flamenco dresses and how they originated and where
they are used. Lots of new information and inspiration came right away. We were further divided
into 4 groups. Then we started creating two designs from which one was chosen. We started working
on the cuts of the body of the dress, the sleeve, the ruffle and the skirt. We transferred the cut-out
cuts to cloths that we bought in the fabric store filaments, cut them out and sewed them. Overlock
work and manual seeding and group work were also very important. It was not easy, but thanks to
the teamwork, we managed it very well. All dresses are beautiful and our experience in sewing and
in the section of clothing design is better. I am very grateful to have been part of the flamenco dress
project and I return to Slovakia with the feeling that I have learned more than I expected. Thank you
Erasmus and thank you to everyone who was part of this project.

On Monday was the first class the teacher was showing us how to make patterns for the Flamenco
dress. It was quite surprising how they changed it from the original pattern. The next day we had a
presentation, the presentation was told and explained by a really sympathetic and kind teacher, even
though I did not understand Spanish I felt like I knew what she was saying, all in all, she made it
interesting and I learned a few new things, after that, we got into groups and made designs for the
dress. I was paired up with three girls from my year and together we came up with, In our eyes the
perfect flamenco dress. The dress had our country’s flag colours and one part of our traditional dress,
making it Slovak Inspired Flamenco dress from Spain. After we made our design final, we made a
pattern for it and the next day we went to buy fabric and necessary things for making the dress. The
shop we bought the fabrics in was huge and had all kinds of beautiful and unique fabrics, we choose
the three colours of our flag, which was: red, blue and white, surprisingly the guy that cut and found
the perfect fabrics knew exactly what shade of colours we wanted and even put it in our flags order.
I couldn’t resist and brought fabric for myself too. We got to the second store and brought lace, thread
and some other things. After that, five hours every day we spend cutting and sewing the dress, during
the making, it was a big challenge for me, there was a lot of stress and the communication with my
teammates was poor but in the end, we made work and finished it. I have to admit I will never forget
this experience, I learned a lot from some basic Spanish words to a whole new interesting sewing
method. The teacher was really kind and she tried to communicate and make jokes which made it all
so much better, the school was pretty and when we worked it was full of positive and creative energy.
When we had free time from learning about Spain and sewing we went exploring the city, Sevilla is
really beautiful, the old buildings were gorgeous and I am glad I got to explore this city. I will make
new memories with me from this and the things I learned will be used in the future, I will continue
to learn Spanish. It’s such a pretty language and these two weeks inspired me to learn it better. I am
happy I got to experience and take part in this program.

The first thing I saw was the huge modern building of the school. The concrete blocks looked really
cold and sharp. Unlike our new teachers. They speak only Spanish but somehow we always
understand what they are telling us. Our work here was to make a flamenco dress. We were working
in groups. I was in a group of three. Before getting into our flamenco dresses, we had a lesson about
the history of flamenco dresses. Not only dresses but the whole following traditions from Spanish
cultures. The first thing obviously was to sketch our ideas. All of us had slightly different ideas about
the dress. But there was one thing that united our sketches. The colours! Our colours are inspired by
the view from a plane of the Spanish countryside. Really warm and ground type colours. The second
day we went to buy materials. We were in this huge warehouse that specialized in flamenco
materials. The next day we went to school and started constructing our cuts. And the day after that
we started working with the materials we bought. We traced the cuts on the fabric and cut out the
pieces. The following days we were doing the most to finish our dresses. Most of the time we went to
school in the afternoon. All with the help of our amazingly kind teachers, we managed to finish the
dress. The whole experience, working in a new environment, working under pressure, we really did
our best. I am happy that I was here.

The first day of our practice was interesting. We had a presentation about flamingo dresses and about
things that relate to that, culture and traditions. We also designed a dress that we want to sew. We
were designing dresses each in their own group. After we designed our dress, our teacher checked it.
The next day we started with the dress pattern, that we changed how we want it. On Wednesday we
went shopping to buy materials for our dress. We couldn’t decide what materials we want. It was for
our kind of hard. The same day we started with cutting materials by pattern. Other days were only
about sewing dresses together. Two teachers were helping us with sewing. We finished our dresses
on Thursday. Overall I’m rating school and teacher excellent. They were very friendly, kind and
always help us with something. I will miss them. The dress come out very beautiful. They are looking
better than we thought, they will. Also, we had courses in Spanish. They helped us with learning
some Spanish basic knowledge. We had a lot of fun during these courses and I were enjoying them. I
am glad that I could be here and meet new people a learn some new things. I hope that I will have a

I was really excited when I found out that I was going on Erasmus in Spain, it was always my dream.
For me, Spain is a country with interesting culture, architecture and nature. I learned a lot of new
things and I had the opportunity to use my skills and knowledge. During the production of the
Flamenco dress, I was in a group with two clever girls. All three of us gradually divided the works so
every each of us did a lot of good work on our Flamenco dress. Of course, there were always great
teachers who were helping us and teaching us new things. All of the teachers that taught us were
really sweet and knowledgeable like Gema who was with us most of the time. She was really patient,
positive and friendly and she was also super funny and friendly. Then there was Loli which we had
our first lessonwith, she gave us a lot of information about how to make a pattern of Flamenco dress.
She gave us the greatest first impression. Then Anna - showed us all history of the Flamenco dress
and we also had drawing lessons with her. She was also really sweet and friendly (and we all agreed
that she is very pretty like all of the teachers we had. And last but not least Paqui that we had a
Spanish class with. The way she was teaching us was very engaging and fun. I think that none of us
had a problem with learning these new words in Spanish. Making a flamenco dress would be harder
if there weren’t be such nice places. The school was very modern and well equipped. What I liked the
most was that I could see the whole production process from making patterns to buying materials
until the sewing itself and last a fashion show. So I am glad that I have the experience to be a part of
this project. We were all formed an amazing team. And the biggest thank you is for Beatka from
Euromind for accompanying us all this way. I am glad that I have the opportunity to meet her and
know her. I hope that someday I will come back to Spain and enjoy this beautiful country.

After the Skype interview, euroMind created a Facebook group to which all the selected participants
were invited, together with their Teachers. This way euroMind Coordinator had constant contact
with the target group already before their arrival in Spain.
euroMind took responsibility for preparing Learning Agreements individually for each participant
and made sure that all the parties involved signed all the necessary documents.
On the first day after the arrival, euroMind organized the welcome session during which the
participants got to know the euroMind team, were reminded about the programme agenda,
accommodation rules and dissemination strategy options.
Later on, the participants were taken for a walk around the neighborhood to get to know the area
and find out where banks, mail box, workplace, supermarkets, bus station are.
2. Monitoring & Monitoring
In order to make sure that the objectives of the Learning Agreement were going to be achieved and
that the participants would be fully integrated in the companies’ work culture, the monitoring was
delivered by all of the parties involved in the project.
euroMind assigned a Mentor for the group of participant who was responsible for the introduction
of the participants to the host organisation. During the training the Mentor delivered monitoring
visits to the host organisation in order to revise the tasks of the trainees, their progress as well learn
from the first hand the level of satisfaction of both the participants and the training centre Tutor.
The Mentor in cooperation with the Tutor carried out the evaluations of the trainees in the middle
and at the end of the training.
After obtaining the results of the half-way through evaluation, the Mentor met the participants to
give them the results of this evaluation. The least favourable results were discussed with the

participants in private so that both the Mentor and the trainees had the comfort of sharing the
information and exchanging the opinions and finding solutions to some problematic issues.
The Tutor from the host organisation was responsible for helping, informing and guiding and
supervising the work done by the participants. The tutor had regular meetings with the participants
in order to assess their progress during the training.
euroMind at the end of the programme during the goodbye session handed out evaluation sheets to
the participants so that they could assess their stay in Spain, training programme, as well as the work
of the euroMind.
euroMind was also available to the participants 24/7 in case of emergency.
3. Communication
EuroMind takes good care of successful communication between host organizations and trainees.
Each evaluation of work is aimed at improving the quality of cooperation. Each party is thoroughly
checked and assessed and the necessary improvements are introduced. Moreover, euroMind
mediates in this tutor-trainee collaboration by translating and solving language-connected
complicated matters.
4. Dissemination strategy
euroMind took active part in the process of preparing and dissemination results of the project
together with the sending organisation and participants.
While the trainees were in Spain, euroMind involved them in a number of activities the aim of which
was to make students monitor and collect all the information related to the progress of their work
placements and stay in Spain. The materials produced by the participant would be then used as tools
for disseminating results by the school in their country and by the partner in Spain.
The participants could work in groups or individually. On the first day they needed to decide on the
form or forms of recording their professional experiences.
As a rule the whole group needed to create a Facebook fun page as it is an effective and quick means
of accessing large numbers of people. What is more, it is a form that appeals to young people as they
can share their experiences instantly and receive instant feedback, too. The fan page is always linked
to the euroMind’s Facebook fan page. The sending organisation was also asked to do the same thing.

This way the material produced by the trainees reached bigger audiences and was more effectively
disseminated.
euroMind also disseminates the project at a local level. It organises language and cultural exchanges
between the international trainees and students from local vocational colleges. During those
meetings both Spanish and International students are involved in a number of activities the aim of
which is to get to know each other, share experiences related to work experiences and in general
their stay in Spain. The students also exchange information about their countries and cultures.
5. Certification
To validate the acquired skills, the trainees, at the end of their stay, received complete proof of their
participation in the project by means of several methods of recognition:
Training Certificate
Europass Mobility Certificate
ECVET if applicable
Spanish Course Certificate if applicable

2. Cultural activities, Andalusian cities & places visited during the programme
Walk around Seville city centre : Seville is the artistic, cultural, and financial capital of Andalusia in
the southern region of Spain. The city is a historical masterpiece full of monuments, gardens and
flamenco festivals. The city reflects the harmony between different Christian, Jewish and Muslim
cultures and religions. As Seville is the capital and the largest city of the autonomous community of
Andalusia, it is easy to get lost here, however thanks to the tour organised by euroMind´s team, the
trainees were able to admire the city safely and in a pleasant atmosphere. The euroMind coordinator
helped the trainees understand the city from a historical and artistic point of view, but also gave them
some shopping and eating tips. The group were shown the best places where they could go and grab
something to eat, drink and have fun or just relax and hang out.
Flamenco Show (Auditorium Álvarez Quintero: Show + Beverage) : During their stay in seville, the
students took part ina Flamenco Show inthe Auditorio Alvarez Quintero. The auditorium was started
by a local family with deep ties to the local flamenco art scene. It is a cultural space, located in the
heart of Seville, between two emblematic sites, the Seville Cathedral and City Hall. The trainees had
the chance to feel the real flamenco passion while watching the show which lasted 60 minutes, which
gave them enough time to explore many different flamenco styles, artists, songs and dances.
Additionally, they took part in a 20-minute flamenco dance masterclass, delivered by the artists
participating in the show. It allowed them to learn some basic concepts such as how to follow the
rhythm and beat when clapping and some basic hand and arm movements.
Matalascañas Beach : Trainees had the opportunity to take part in a trip to Matalascañas, a beach in
Huelva, located in the South of Spain on the Costa de la Luz. The marvelous white sand beach belongs
to the Doñana nature reserve, an important nature area that can be accessed from here on foot.
Doñana National Park is also very famous for one of the largest sand dunes in Europe. Part of this
beach is in an urban area, with a pedestrianised seafront promenade, so there are a wide range of
hotels and restaurants nearby. The trainees were able to relax, go for a walk, sunbathe and enjoy the
summer spirit of this place. Granada : Granada is the city of three religions and cultures: Judaism,
Christianity and Islam. During the trip the group had a chance to learn and experience a little bit of
each of these cultures. Moreover, the students could enjoy the great variety of stunning landscapes
and views that Granada has to offer since the city is located at the foot of a mountain range called
Sierra Nevada. Among the most interesting places to see, the group visited: The Albaicín district (with
the Mirador de San Nicolas), Plaza Nueva square (St Annes Church), The Acaicerí market, Bib Rambla
Square, the Cathedral, the Alhambra and the Generalife views, and also the Sacromonte district where
gitanos (gipsies) built up their houses in caves.

We have no doubt that our trainees will use their new knowledge and experience at their current
work in their home country or increase their chances at the labour market and dazzle their future
potential employers.
Moreover, the trainees learnt the basics of the Spanish language were able to work in a multi-cultural
environment and proved themselves with the ability to work individually as well as in a team.
