22. MPSJ, Winner of the National Song Contest!

The Tinig-Paslit Choir of San Jose Elementary School won the first prize in the recently
concluded National Timpalak-Awit held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Arts Hall
of the Davao Cultural Center. The group topped more than fifty participants who came
from different parts of the country.
23. The members of the group are students from the fourth to sixth grade led
by their trainer Bb. Elyrah L. Salanga. According to him, they started
training only in December last year. He added, their preparation was not
easy because they practiced almost every day. Throughout the year, they
studied four songs. However, she and the school ensured that the
participants' training would not interfere with their studies, the young lady
explained.
When Amelia Loyola, a member of the singing group, was asked what
was the secret of their success, she said that they all worked hard and
persevered to win for the honor of their school. He added that they should
always be happy while they are training.
This is the school's first win in the said contest. They pray that it will
follow again.
