Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how humans learn. The UDL framework involves a process that identifies the audience and context, establishes guidelines and standards, applies those standards, plans accommodations, provides training and support, and evaluates effectiveness. Key UDL principles include providing multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression. Resources are provided on implementing UDL guidelines.
