Course Content
• From landscapes and air pollution to the politics of
revolution, learn about how modern history continues to
shape our world and how historians look to the future based
on their understanding of the past. Expand your knowledge
of social, cultural and political development in Britain, Europe
and the wider world from 1700 onwards. Analyse documents
including films, official records, personal narratives and letters
in the context of global events. Work directly with
14. Academic History
• The first piece of academic work that I felt
proud of was my research on if video games
make people violent that I handed in for my
extended project in which I achieved an A
grade. Since then, I have enjoyed researching
topics that I have been intrigued by,
throughout my course, such as bandura's
bobo doll experiment, which linked to media
influenced violence.
16. The Future
• I find the subject of crime and justice
fascinating. Due to this, I can see myself
working in the fields of the history of societies
or forensics. Both of these roles are focused
on people, which suites me as an individual.
17. Outside College
• Outside of college, I have a part time job,
which means that I can effectively manage my
time between my academic course and my
other responsibilities.
18. Conclusion
• By extending my time in further education I
have prepared myself for independent living
and study. I am also now in a position where I
am ready to take on more academic
responsibility in a course which peaks my
interest.
