Vain Worship

Isaiah 1:13-15 13 Bring no more futile sacrifices;
Incense is an abomination to Me. The New
Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of
assemblies--I cannot endure iniquity and the
sacred meeting. 14 Your New Moons and your
appointed feasts My soul hates; They are a
trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them. 15
When you spread out your hands, I will hide My
eyes from you; Even though you make many
prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of
blood.
Ignorant Worship
Acts 17:22-23 22 Then Paul stood in the
midst of the Areopagus and said, "Men of
Athens, I perceive that in all things you are
very religious; 23 for as I was passing
through and considering the objects of your
worship, I even found an altar with this
inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.

Therefore, the One whom you worship
without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:

Ignorant Worship

Will Worship


Colossians 2:20-23 20 Therefore, if you died
with Christ from the basic principles of the world,
why, as though living in the world, do you subject
yourselves to regulations-- 21 "Do not touch, do
not taste, do not handle," 22 which all concern
things which perish with the using--according to
the commandments and doctrines of men 23
These things indeed have an appearance of
wisdom in self-imposed religion, (will worship KJV) false humility, and neglect of the body, but
are of no value against the indulgence of the
flesh.
Will Worship
Many want a self-imposed (will) worship

They want worship to be for their pleasure and
enjoyment.

They want worship that pleases them


Worship is not for our pleasure.

Worship is not for our enjoyment.

God.
Creature Worship


Romans 1:24-25 24 Therefore God also
gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts
of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies
among themselves, 25 who exchanged the
truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and
served the creature rather than the
Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Creature Worship
We think about the pagans who worship
snakes, cows, birds, lions, fish and other
animals.

But many today are in love with themselves
– narcissistic

Some are guilty of following some man –
preacher, TV star, movie star, singer, etc.

Do not worship the created.

Worship the Creator.

True Worship


John 4:23-24 23 But the hour is
coming, and now is, when the true
worshipers will worship the Father
in spirit and truth; for the Father is
seeking such to worship Him. 24 God
is Spirit, and those who worship Him
must worship in spirit and truth."
