This document provides an agenda for a 5th grade social studies lesson on map skills. It discusses the objectives of being able to name 2-3 types of maps and understand the different types of maps. The types covered are political maps, which show how land is divided for governing; physical maps, which depict natural features; and special purpose maps, which can show things like climate, agriculture, or population density. Examples of each map type are presented.
