1. From this establishing shot the audience can see the location of where
it is being shot. This is showing the audience where the action will be
taking place. From this the audience get the feel of the setting. The
costume used for Anna is of her sleep wear as we wanted to create a
dreamy affect.
We used a simple font for the title of our opening sequence. The black
contrasts with the white which makes it stand out to the audience. It is
all in capital letters which shows the importance and it is also standing
alone on the page which can connote isolation as the title is isolated
and on its own. This conforms to the conventions of a thriller film.
2. This long shot shows her whole body expression and shows that
Anna is running away from Jack. This is one of our flashback scenes
from the opening sequence and our lead actress is dreaming about
it. We made the scene black and white as people usually dream in
black and white also this intrigues the audience as they want to find out more of what happened to
make her dream unhappy dreams.
This long shot is another one of our flashback scenes. This one isn’t in
black and white as our lead actress is looking back at the earlier events
that had taken place. This shows that the murder that she has
committed is still haunting her and plaguing her every thought as she
keeps replaying the events in her mind. In this scene she is trying to hide
from Jack as he is after her and wants her to be his.
This is a long shot and is showing the audience what her body language
is saying. This scene is one of the flashback scenes. We have blurred
out the scene as we wanted it to be as if our character is confused and
terrified about what she is going to do with the gun in her hand and
has to decide where to hide it.
This is a close up of the door. We put the editors near the end of the
movie which shows that it’s more important and also we want
people to remember the names. As the names are at the end then
people are more likely to remember it.
This is a long shot of the shed. This is where Anna is worried of
someone finding the gun so she looks for another place to hide it.
3. This midshot shows us Anna’s facial expression and body language
towards the action she is doing. This is a flashback scene. We wanted
to make it blurry as our actress would get out bed and the thoughts
she would have would be fuzzy as it’s very hard for her to remember
clearly what happened the other night.
This is the title at the end of our opening sequence it is there as it is
the most important. The black background makes the white stand
out and it is noticeable for the audience to see.
