2. I opened my trailer with the production company. The production company I have used is a
made up company for my brand. I used Thrill Productions as it reflects the thriller genre that
my film is.
3. I then opened the scene with a shot of the woodland (establishing shot) which
the trailer is set in. This allows the audience to get a gist of the complexity of the
area, meaning they can comprehend the chase which happens further in the
trailer.
4. I then introduced the main character into the shot, I used a mid shot for this shot. It
shows my main character watching the television – this allows my audience to
connect with her as she is just an everyday girl watching telly like a normal
individual.
5. IN BETWEEN
• In between the previous slide and the following side I included further shots of
the setting and my main character Chelsie, I feel as though this introduced the
setting and character well. Fully informing the audience on where and who the
story will be about.
6. After these few shots I then used a black screen to include the title of the film. The font is
the same font as the one which is used on the magazine and the film poster – this is in
order to show coherency within the piece, so the audience can directly link the products
together.
7. I then followed this shot with the antagonist character with in my thriller genre. I used an
over the shoulder shot in order to keep the secrecy of the male character as I want this to
be found out in the actual film. By doing this it will build up a suspense towards the film
itself.
8. I then used a handheld shot to represent my male character lurking in the woods
hiding behind trees. There is also heavy breathing used in the shot to show
exhaustion. This is meant to symbolise the fact that he has been running/chasing
after Chelsie and is praying on her from afar.
9. I then included a mid shot of Chelsie lying on a piece of rock – this is to cause a
questioning aspect to the trailer causing the audience to wonder what will
happen next. By doing this it adds more tension, and also further persuades the
audience to watch the film when it finally comes out.
10. I have used a focus shot on the text which is being written by the mystery boy
in the purple hoodie. This shows the stalker aspect of the trailer – which gives
further information to the audience as to what the story line is.
11. The next scene shows a fuller image of the mystery male in the trailer. This
long shot further represents the setting as well as the character within the
trailer. This shot again further makes the audience wonder who the
character is.
12. I have then used an action shot to show the distress of the female character,
the male character who is still kept secret is seen grabbing Chelsie by the
arm. This will show the thriller side of my trailer.
13. I shortly followed the previous shot with a woodland scene and I then
added another action scene where Chelsie is seen being choked by the
mystery character.
14. I then went to a different angle of Chelsie lying on the rock; this
time from the mystery characters perspective. This further
emphasises the suspense of the trailer.
15. I then used another black screen with the text coming soon. I
found this was a common feature on many teaser trailers, as only
the official trailers state the actual date of release. I used the
same font as the title in order to follow coherency.
16. I decided to leave a black screen for suspense and then add in a slight jump
scare in order to keep my audience interested right up to the very end
point of the trailer. I used a close up shot in order to show the fear of my
female character.
