This document discusses social media use among teens. It begins by asking attendees about their social media use and any experiences with social media related issues involving teens. It then discusses the top social media platforms teens are using and asks how they are able to use them without their parents' knowledge. The bulk of the document focuses on discussing norms, access, and policies/enforcement as the three factors that influence teen social media use and provides recommendations in each area for parents to help guide their teens' online activities. It concludes by emphasizing that parents need to educate themselves on the online world teens engage with to help both protect them from potential dangers and take advantage of opportunities.
