Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

bintang mempunyai bentuk seperti bintang/ star, setiap node tersambung
secara terpusat pada sebuah perangkat keras Hub atau switch. berupa
kovergensi dari node tengah ke setiap node/ pengguna, sehingga semua
node atau titik terkoneksi dengan node tengah tersebut.
✘ memiliki prinsip kerja dengan sebuah control atau kendali terpusat dimana
seluruh link akan melalui pusat dan kemudian data disalurkan ke semua
node atau node tertentu yang dikehendaki server pusat. Dalam istilah
teknologi informasi, simpul pusat disebut sebagai stasiun primer sedangkan
node-node yang terhubung lainnya disebut sebagai stasiun sekunder atau

5. Ciri-ciri Topologi Star
✘ Terdapat HUB atau Switch yang digunakan sebagai server untuk dapat
menghubungkan semua node.
✘ Masing-masing node memiliki kabel tersendiri yang secara langsung
membuat node tersebut dapat terkoneksi dengan HUB sebagai perangkat
pusat, sehingga arus data mengalir dari node-pusat-node (jalur lalu lintas
data).
✘ Media transmisi atau kabel yang digunakan adalah kabel UTP atau
Unshielded Twisted Pair dan dilengkapi juga dengan konektor RJ 45, namun
ada juga yang menggunakan kabel dengan jenis fiber optic atau jenis coaxial.

6. Cara Kerja Topologi Star
✘ Hub yang telah tersambung dengan server penyedia paket data sudah harus siap
untuk sebagai pusat dari jaringan komputer.
✘ Lalu, pasang kabel-kabel di dalam port pada hub atau switch yang dipakai sebagai
sentral.
✘ Jika tiap kabel sudah terpasang, hubungkan kabel-kabel tersebut ke dalam
komputer-komputer yang dijadikan sebagai client atau user.
✘ Dengan seperti itu, setiap user atau client akan mendapatkan data yang sama seperti
apa yang dimiliki oleh server sebagai sentral dan juga sumber paket data.Jika
memakai topologi star dalam pembuatan suatu jaringan komputer,maka harus
membuat setiap komputer yang dipakai sebagai user dan membutuhkan tiap
komputer dengna satu instalasi kabel. Oleh sebab itu jika mempunyai 20 unit
komputer client atau user, maka membutuhkan 20 unit kabel supaya suatu jaringan
topologi star bisa berjalan dengan baik dan optimal di setiap komputer user.

7. Kelebihan & Kekurangan
Kelebihan
✘ Maintanence dan perbaikan jaringan akan lebih
mudah dilakukan jika ada kerusakan pada salah
satu perangkat komputer, karena Anda cukup
melihat kondisi HUB atau Switch dan juga kondisi
kabel langsung dari kondisi server.
✘ Kecepatan jaringan pada semua node sama
besarnya dengan server pusat sehingga efisiensi
pemakaian jaringan dalam hal transfer data atau
packet akan menjadi lebih efektif.
✘ Pengaplikasian jenis kabel dalam topologi jenis
star ini dapat berbeda-beda sesuai dengan
kondisi dan kebutuhan komputer yang
digunakan, hal ini memungkinkan untuk
dilakukan karena topologi jaringan jenis star ini
kompatibel dengan berbagai jenis kabel
Kekurangan
✘ Penerapan topologi jenis ini terhadap
jaringan Anda akan menyebabkan
kebutuhan kabel yang tinggi karena
setiap node memerlukan kabel yang
menghubungkan antara node tersebut
dan HUB atau Switch, terlepas dari
seberapa dekat atau jauh jaraknya.
✘ Lalu lintas data atau packet yang padat
dan tinggi dapat menyebabkan
menurunnya kecepatan transfer, maka
semakin banyak perangkat komputer
yang terhubung pada satu jaringan
semakin lambat pula proses transfer
atau laju perpindahan data tersebut

8. Jenis Jaringan
LAN (Local Area Network) :
Pada skema jariga ini, kita menggunakan jenis jaringan
LAN. Karena LAN mencakup wilayah Lokal area
Sekolah yang biasanya bersekala kecil, contoh lainnya
bisa berupa perusahaan atau warung internet. Dan
juga penggunaan LAN juga sangat praktis dalam hal
Sharing File atau sharing printer. Jaringan LAN juga
mempunyai fitur LAN chatting tanpa harus terhubung
kedalam internet.

9. Skema Topologi Star
✘ seluruh komputer saling terhubung melalui sebuah perangkat
pusat. Pada topologi star seluruh data yang terkirim dari suatu
komputer ke komputer lain harus melalui perangkat pusat
terlebih dahulu.
✘ Perangkat pusat tersebut berupa perangkat jaringan seperti
hub, switch atau komputer dan fungsi utama dari perangkat
pusat ini ialah mengelola dan mengendalikan semua fungsi
pada jaringan, selain itu perangkat pusat juga dapat berfungsi
sebagai repeater untuk aliran data tersebut.
