A Structural Equation Modeling among Stress, Fear of Negative Evaluation and ...
The objective of this study is to examine the relations of the stress, fear of negative evaluation, avoidant decision making and dependent decision making among a group of university students that have moderate economic status. The study group consists of 330 participants who are students of public university. Our study was based on voluntary participation. 56% of participants were female and 44% participants were male. We used Structural Equation Modeling for the data analysis. The results were X2 /df=1.564; GFI=0.88; CFI=0.94; RMSEA=0.04; SRMR=0.05. The goodness of fit provided evidence that the hypothesized model was stable. All estimated path coefficients were significant. We found that the avoidant decision making and the dependent decision making have a positive impact on the fear of negative evaluation and the fear of negative evaluation has positive impact on the stress. The avoidant decision making style and the dependent decision making style explained %10 of the variation in the fear of negative evaluation. All these tree variables explained %20 of the variation in the stress. The fear of negative evaluation plays a mediating role for avoidant decision making style and the dependent decision making style on the stress.

Learning, perception and attribution
Learning is a relatively permanent change in behavior or knowledge due to experience. Behavioral changes can be due to learning or other causes like drugs, injury, or maturation. Learning starts with the mind accepting new knowledge which may or may not result in observable behavior changes. There are two main types of learning: classical conditioning where a neutral stimulus becomes associated with an original stimulus and response, and operant conditioning where people learn through reinforcement of pleasurable or avoidance of unpleasurable outcomes from behaviors. Perception is a process by which individuals organize and interpret their sensory impressions in order to give meaning to their environment. It is important to the study of OB because peoples’ behaviors are based on their perception of what reality is, not on reality itself.Factors that shape and can distort perception include the perceiver, the target, or the situation.When an individual looks at a target and attempts to interpret what he or she sees, that interpretation is heavily influenced by personal characteristics of the individual perceive. The more relevant personal characteristics affecting perception of the perceive are attitudes, motives, interests, past experiences, and expectations.Attribution theory suggests that when we observe an individual’s behavior, we attempt to determine whether it was internally or externally caused. That determination depends largely on three factors: These are Distinctiveness, Consensus,Consistency. We’ll talk more about each these in a minute.
There are a couple of confounding concepts that impinge on Attribute Theory. First, a Fundamental Attribution Error is that we have a tendency to underestimate the influence of external factors and overestimate the influence of internal or personal factors. In addition, Self-serving Bias is a tendency for individuals to attribute their own successes to internal factors such as ability or effort while putting the blame for failure on external factors such as luck.

DECISION MAKING IS the essence of manage-
ment, which explains why so much attention
continues to be focused on how to do it better. In
recent years, much has been written about evidence-
based — or fact-based — decision making. The core
idea is that decisions supported by hard facts and
sound analysis are likely to be better than decisions
made on the basis of instinct, folklore or informal
anecdotal evidence. One need look no further than
the shelves of the local bookstore to see an unprece-
dented collection of well-written titles extolling the
virtues of data and analysis, such as Competing on
Analytics (Davenport and Harris), Moneyball (Lewis)
and Super Crunchers (Ayres). These books, like deci-
sion-making courses in business schools and the
prescriptions of management consultants, focus on
how to improve decision outcomes through improved
process and technique. Many organizations have
heeded the call and have invested heavily in data pro-
cessing infrastructure and analytic tools, based on the
assumption that better evidence-based decisions will
follow naturally from these investments. While this
focus on evidence is a welcome change from “thin slicing” or purely instinctive or
intuitive snap judgments, these prescriptions tend to downplay the more fundamental
questions: What is the relationship between evidence and the decision process that an
organization actually uses? Why is evidence collected in the first place?
Our research and consulting experience suggests that evidence is not as frequent an

Introduction
At the very beginning of this course the authors stated the core topics of organizational behavior are motivation, leader behavior and power, interpersonal communication, group structure and processes, attitude development and perception, change processes, conflict and negotiation, and work design. This week’s reading goes into depth of a couple of those topics: perception and motivation.
Chapter Six
Chapter six defines for us what perception is, “a process by which we organize and interpret sensory impressions in order to give meaning to their environment.” There are a few factors that shape our perception, perceiver, target, and context. Our perception of people often come from our first impressions of them, we don’t get to know them. This is because of four shortcuts people take in judging someone. First, is selective perception, this means people judge based on their interest and background. Next, the halo effect, where people judge on a single characteristic. The contrast effects are where individuals compare someone who has a distinctive characteristic to others you know with the same characteristics. And lastly, is stereotyping. We know from previous chapters that stereotyping is based on the group to which someone belongs. When someone makes a decision, it is based on their perception. Generally, in organizational behavior there are three things that determine what kind of decision someone makes. One is the rational model. This is where someone decides, after they know all the information, on the option that has the highest utility. Bounded rationality is another. This means the person making the decision doesn’t know all of the information, but they can construct models that extract the essential features. Finally, there is intuition. This is where someone doesn’t know all the information, but they make their decision based on experience. There are several biases that can take place in decision making, these include overconfidence bias, anchoring bias, confirmation bias, availability bias, and hindsight bias. Along with biases, there are errors as well. These are escalation of commitment, randomness error, and risk aversion. Your decisions influence you as an individual and your organization. One of the most important things to know in any career and something that is taught in almost every class are ethics and that is also covered in the end of chapter six.
Chapter Seven
Chapter 7 and 8 cover the motivation topic of organizational behavior. Our authors define motivation as “the processes that account for an individual’s intensity, direction, and persistence of effort toward attaining a goal.” Chapter seven is full of motivation theories. These tests take the form of statements where candidates respond true/false, or choose between adjectives or statements. Validity and reliability are important factors in evaluating tests, including face validity, content validity, construct validity, criterion validity, test-retest reliability, internal consistency, and parallel forms reliability.

Artificial Intelligence for XMLDevelopment
In the rapidly evolving landscape of technologies, XML continues to play a vital role in structuring, storing, and transporting data across diverse systems. The recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) present new methodologies for enhancing XML development workflows, introducing efficiency, automation, and intelligent capabilities. We will explore the capabilities of AI in understanding XML markup languages and autonomously creating structured XML content. Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
