Tubular daylighting devices (TDDs), also known as light tubes or sun pipes, are discussed as an affordable and energy-efficient lighting solution for interior spaces that traditional windows and skylights cannot reach. TDDs bring natural daylight into buildings while reducing energy costs by significantly decreasing the need for electric lighting. They are designed to control issues with direct sunlight like glare and overheating by filtering infrared and ultraviolet rays.
