Trowbridge's Civic Hall, to
provide a new landmark,
community focused,
entertainment and civic
building as a “model of
sustainability”.
A £4.85M
development
providing 4,500m2 of
flexible space –
including;
offices, performance
space, Green
Rooms, Council
Chamber, Tourist
Information
Centre, Cafe, kitche
ns, bars and support
spaces.
Materials include; locally grown and
milled sweet chestnut, natural and
reconstituted stone, tern coated
steel, and brick. Aluminium standing
seam roof cladding and aluminium
clad
high performance timber windows.
The development replaces an poorly
performing 1970’s building and
addresses energy and comfort issues
through high levels of insulation to the
walls and roof, low energy
lighting, underfloor heating, assisted &
passive stack - plus natural cross flow
ventilation via motorised high
performance timber windows, integrated
into the BMS.
The Lansdown Hall is a
multi-purpose assembly
and performance space for
up to 1,292 people standing
or 500 seated. Flexible
staging and movable walls
allow the Hall to be used for
a wide range of seated or
standing public and
commercial events.
Independent light & sound
                       gallery with direct connection
                       to Lansdown Hall.

                       High levels of acoustic
                       separation were detailed
                       throughout.
