- #2 Introduce Team Members and the Company that we are working with Good afternoon and welcome to our Project: tropical Elegance. Today I, Emily Feugill, will be presenting the case analysis and outcomes of the project that I and my teammates, Nick and Amanda has received. (or something like that- something that sets us apart )
- #3 History: Owned and managed by Ms. Chin-Sim Kang- she is the only employee of the company thus far Established in March 2003 upon searching for unique wedding favors Operates out of her Manchester, NH home Offers exotic and hand-crafted gifts, wedding favors, candles, and unique shoes that is found in different parts of the world.
- #4 Though the company is Located in Manchester NH, she operates through craft fairs and sells to one wholesale market. She also had an online catalog that could be viewed by her customers, but her customers could not purchase products on her website. Industry: Floral themed gifts and favors Service Market: weddings, special occasions, those in need of unique gifts or party favors or something to make the house a little more decorative
- #5 Some of the most important trends currently happening in the market place is that of e-commerce establishments. Even the smallest businesses are building e-commerce sites to become more competitive. This alone makes the small business have the opportunity to grow even bigger. I don’t know if you want to add anything else about trends in the market because there are other things like the floral industry now carrying candles and other gift shop gifts- that sort of thing.

We are committed to achieving the highest levels of personalized service, with emphasis on customization to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- #7 Introductory stage of the business life cycle The company was established in 2003, but is still fairly new Since the company is not widely known at the moment, the establishment is still considered to be in the introductory stage of the business cycle
- #8 Focus of project is to create an operating e-commerce website that the company can use in order to operate their business. The e-commerce website will be easy to navigate, customer friendly, and entail the use of Paypal for easy purchasing as well as the shopping cart feature in order to make purchases and transactions flow more smoothly and time efficiently Focus of the project is also to assist in the success of the company. If the business had a welcoming and more efficient and effective website, then consumers may be more apt to purchase from this business. Ultimately this would also assist in putting the company into a growth stage where the company will become more successful as well as open more opportunities to the company.
- #9 Strengths: website establishment- Ms. Kang had already had a website established. It just needed to be easily updated, and she wanted the customers to be able to buy her products online. Unique products which set them apart from other small businesses LLC status- this factor makes it so that she does not have to worry about losing everything if, for some reason, her company fails.
- #10 Branding: She does not currently have a lot of brand awareness for her products. With a few marketing techniques, we can make this factor a strength.
- #11 Opportunities: External wholesale distribution- she currently has one wholesale distributor that she sells to. This is an opportunity because she can sell her products in bulk to companies and get her brand out there even more.
- #12 Threats: Competition in the floral gift industry Website/e-commerce establishments: There are so many businesses selling their products online that websites that are strictly catalogs don’t get as much attention.
- #13 Research for e-commerce host: Research various hosts that would be able to publish and maintain this new website Analyzing those results in order to appropriately choose the best possible e-commerce host Adapting the e-commerce host to the project
- #14 Selected a e-commerce host In the end, Ms. Kang found a host that she liked and wanted to use. This host was Netfirms.
- #15 Researched all of the background information about the company, its competitions, and this type of industry and market Took photos of all of the products that would be available to view on the new website: this was done to ensure all products would be on the site Learned PHP formatting- this is similar to html coding, it was needed in order to ensure the success of the shopping cart functionality and the uniformity of the website Built the individual web pages and linked them together Inputted all of the information that would be seen on the various web pages and made sure that all of the information was correct and appropriate Published the final website once it was completed and looked over by the company

- #17 Presenting Final Product: Conference call to the contact person in order to discuss the final website and figure out if any last minute changes needed to be made Making the final touch-ups to the ecommerce website to ensure smooth transition between pages Creating and preparing for a final presentation that would be presented to the owner of the company

Marketing can begin through the new website as well as search engines ultimately this will help establish the Tropical Elegance Brand
- #20 Long Term: Eventually obtain a larger customer base through the publication and success of the e-commerce website Create new promotions that can be viewed on the website and used as a marketing and promotional tool Earn a better reputation through the new e-commerce website because it is more effective and efficient when conducting business with customers and prospective customers *I think this is fine- the reputation part.
