1. Introduction:
Time is an abstract thing. When we say time is wasted it just gives a phenomena. But
engineering means quantification. Decision are made based on quantity index. Hence comes
measuring the financial value of delay.
Objective:
For justifying a project
For understanding current loss
For evaluating taken steps
Methodology:
First from short count we determine ADT
From volume analysis along with this adt we determine each type of vehicle in a day.
We use expansion factor, growth factor for broader calculation
As during stop go situation vehicle undergoes mechanical problem it has an financial
loss value. Value operating cost VOC factor is determined based on survey, statistics.
Now VOC is used for determining financial loss of vehicle
Similar survey tells probable occupancy in vehicle and also probable financial
contribution per head of them
This is Value Travel Time VOT
From VOT we get financial loss due to individual activity deficiency
WE sum up both cost to get the total loss
2. This loss will be our benefit if we take the project
