2) The trauma inflicted on Indigenous communities aimed to destroy their culture, language, spirituality, and family structures. This "soul wounding" was not healed and was passed down.
3) Interventions must address historical and socio-cultural factors to help individuals and communities reclaim their identity and prevent the further internalization and enactment of oppression and trauma. New narratives and cultural competence are needed.
