Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is
conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it
― Gautama Buddha

Transforming Earth into a Paradise according to Judaism
God has promisedblessingsforobedience andcursesfordisobedience
Deuteronomy 11:26-28 See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse, the blessing
if you obey the commands of God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the
commands of God and turn from the way that I command you today
Deuteronomy32:46-47 "he said to them, “Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared
to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this
law. They are not just idle words for you—they are your life.
Deuteronomy28:2-6 confirmsandreiteratesthe same message
All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey God: You will be blessed in
the city and blessed in the country.
The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your
livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and
blessed when you go out.
The most frequentteachingsof the OldTestimonyare 'blessingsforobedience&Cursesfordis-
obedience
Deuteronomy 30:15-16 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and
destruction. For I command you today to love God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his
commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and God will bless you in the land
you are entering to possess.
Deuteronomy30:19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I
have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your
children may live
Deuteronomy 10:12-13 what does God ask of you but to fear God, to walk in all his ways, to
love him, to serve God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13and to observe the
LORD's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
The same consistentteachingsare alsoconfirmedin Deuteronomy7:12-16,Deuteronomy11:13-15,
Deuteronomy15:5-6,Leviticus26
Deuteronomy29:9 alsourgespeople tofollow the law inordertosucceed
Therefore keep the words of this covenant and do them that you may prosper in all that you do
Similarteachingsare alsomentionedinDeuteronomy 28:15-20, 28:47-48, 28:58-59, 30:8-10, andin

commands of God that I give you.
Deuteronomy6:4-9 “Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! “You shall love the
LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. “You shall teach them
diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by
the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.
“You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. “You
shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates
Deuteronomy11:18-20 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on
your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along
the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses
and on your gates
Deuteronomy 30:11-14 Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or
beyond your reach.
It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and
proclaim it to us so we may obey it?
Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim
it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart
so you may obey it.
Mosestaught that Justice shouldbe grantedtoall – one measure forthe citizensandthe strangers

Deuteronomy 10:19 And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were
foreigners in Egypt
Leviticus19:34 The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them

requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him
and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and
decrees that I am giving you today for your own good
Deuteronomy10:17-19 teachthat God isgreat, mighty,awesome,doesnotshow partiality;reminds
us of the justice forthe orphanand the widow
For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the
awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe. He ensures that orphans and widows
receive justice. He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and
clothing. So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in
the land of Egypt

the widow
Deuteronomy24:17 Do not deprive the foreigner or the fatherless of justice, or take the cloak
of the widow as a pledge
Deuteronomy 24:14 -15 Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy,

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be
careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful

whether it is good or evil.

Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow
Isaiah2:4 urgesus to stop the wars,to use our toolsfor agriculture purposesnotformilitary

children unwilling to listen to the Lord’s instruction.
They say to the seers, “See no more visions!” and to the prophets,
“Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions”
Because you have rejected this message, relied on oppression and depended on deceit, this sin

It will break in pieces like pottery

It isnot impossible forpeopletofollow suchwisdomandtotransformearthintoa paradise
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter -
when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I
Isaiah3:5 People will oppress each other - man against man, neighbor against neighbor. The young

Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them! They will be paid back for what their hands have
done.
My people, your guides lead you astray; they turn you from the path.
The Lord takes his place in court; he rises to judge the people. The Lord enters into judgment
against the elders and leaders of his people:
“It is you who have ruined my vineyard; the plunder from the poor is in your houses.
What do you mean by crushing my people and grinding the faces of the poor?”

not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow’s case does not come before them
2 Chronicles7:14 teachesthatGod answersthe prayersof the repentedsinners

stone? “Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your
Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous
wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs
from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will

You must love God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' This is the first and
greatest commandment. A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the
other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two
commandments
In Luke 10:25-28 Jesuswasasked
“Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Law?
How do you read it?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle
within you? You want something but don't get it.
You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have,
because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong
motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward
God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God
John15:10-11 remindsusof the rewardsfor obedience
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's
commandments and abide in his love.
I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete
Luke 6:27-36 and Matthew 5:38-42 set the high standard for wise dealing
with others; such teachings would replace hatred by compassion and would
transform earth into a paradise
But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who
curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other
also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt.
Give to everyone who begs from you; and of him who takes away your goods do not ask them
again. And as you wish that men would do to you, do so to them
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great,
and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be

Matthew13:18-23 isa parable on those whoacceptthe teachingsanddogood deeds
Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the
kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in
their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to
someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they
last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall
away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the
worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But
the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is
the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown
In Matthew15:6-9 Jesusfacedthose whonullifythe wordof Godfor the sake of theirtraditions
they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the
sake of your tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:

They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.”

order to keep your tradition
In Luke 13:3 and13:5, Jesustaughtthat repentance isnecessaryforsalvation
But unless you repent, you too will all perish
Matthew3:8-10 clarifiesthatprophetspreachof repentance
Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. Don’t just say
to each other, ‘We’re safe, for we are descendants of Abraham.’ That means nothing, for I tell
you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones. Even now the ax of God’s
judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not
produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire
Matthew3:2 and 4:17 showsthatJohnand Jesuspreached repentance
Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near
Matthew 9:13 teachesthatJesuscame to call the sinnertorepentance

Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting
Luke 15: 32 clarifiesthatthe RepentantSinnerwasdeadandisalive again

My brothers, if one of you wanders from the truth, and someone causes him to return, you

In John5:30-31 and 12:49-50 Jesustaughtthat he is onlydeliveringthe message of God
I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me. Therefore, my judgment is just, because I
carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will.
If I were to testify on my own behalf, my testimony would not be valid
I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and
how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells

James1:5 urgesus to ask God forwisdom
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to you
James1:22-26 urge us to be doersof the law, andnot hearersonly
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling
yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a
mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.
But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and
don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. If you claim to be religious but
don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless
James2:14 and 2:17 teachthat faithwithoutworksisdead

them they will not follow it; but if they see a crooked way they will follow it; this is because
they denied Our revelations and were heedless of them
Thisis similartothe wisdomtaughtbyIsaiahinIsaiah30:9-11
6:119 teachesthatmany are ledastrayby theirownluststhroughignorance
15:56 teachesthatwe shouldneverdespairof God’smercy
Who would despair of the mercy of his God except one who goes astray?
4:97 isa scene fromhereaftertoteachthat people shouldnotsubmittothe unjustauthoritieswhich
doesnotallowjustice orreligionfreedom
as for those whom the angels take (in death) while they wrong themselves, (the angels) will ask:
In what were ye engaged? They will say : We were oppressed in the land. (The angels) will say:
Was not God’s earth spacious that ye could have migrated therein? As for such, their habitation
will be hell, an evil journey's end
28:59 teachesthatGod doesnot punishwithoutsendingmessengers;he punishesthe wrongdoers
God would never destroy the towns until He had sent a messenger, proclaiming to them Our
revelations; and We would not destroy towns except when their dwellers had become
wrongdoers
7:28 teachesthatwe shouldnotautomaticallyinheritthe badhabitsof the disobedientparents
Whenever they commit a shameful deed, they say: "We found our forefathers doing this and
God Himself has commanded us to do so." Tell them: "Nay! God never commands what is
shameful. Do you attribute to God something about which you have no knowledge?
37:69-70 warn those whoblindlyfollow the father’sreligion
They indeed found their fathers astray, and they are eagerly following their footsteps
The same isconfirmedin43:23-25
Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps
[rightly] guided."And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that
its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps,
following."[Each Warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon
which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are
disbelievers." So we took retribution from them; then see how was the end of the deniers
16:35 warnsthose whosay that it isall decidedbyGodand we do not have decisionsaboutfaith
matters
And the idolaters say: "If God wanted, neither we nor our forefathers would have worshipped
anyone else but Him, nor made anything unlawful without His will." Such excuses were put
forward also by those who went before them. Yet messengers have no more responsibility than
to convey the Message clearly
16:53 remindsusaboutGod’s giftsandthe fact that he is the onlyrefuge we seekinreal disasters
Whatevergiftsyouenjoyare fromGod, andwhentouchedbydistress,He isthe One to Whom you
cry for help
16:83 warnsthose whoenjoythe giftsof God but are ungrateful
They recognize the gifts of God, yet they deny them; most of them are ungrateful disbelievers
17:14 isa scene fromthe hereafterteachesthateachpersonwill validate hisrecordsof hisdeeds
Here is your book of deeds: read it. Today you yourself are sufficient to take your own account
17:15 teachesthatGod enablespeopletochoose theirfaith, theywill be rewardedaccordingto
theirdeeds,andthere isnopunishmentforthose whodonotknow aboutthe Prophets
Whoever chooses to follow the right path, follows it but for his own good; and whoever goes
astray, goes but astray to his own hurt; and no bearer, of burdens shall be made to bear
burdens of others. Moreover, We do not inflict punishment until We send forth a messenger to
make truth distinct from falsehood
17:72 warns those whoturn a blindeye tothe signsof God inthisworldthat theywill be blindinthe
hereafter
But those who have turn a blind eye to the signs of God in this world will be blind in the
hereafter, rather worse than blind in finding the Way to Salvation
20:124-127 warn those whoturn a blindeye tothe signsof God in thisworldthattheywill be blind
inthe hereafter
And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We
will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."
He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?" [God] will say,
"Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten."
And thus do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord.
And the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring
21:24 teachesthatmost unbelieversdonotknow the truth
But most of them have no knowledge of the truth, and that is why they have turned away
43:7 teachesthatpeople usedtopersecute the Prophets
But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him
23:44 teachesthatpeople hate the true teachingsof the prophets
- and sent forth Our messengers one after another: every time a messenger came to his people,
they disbelieved him, so We punished them one by one and made them a history; so away with a
people who do not believe
21:35 teachesthatwe will be testedbybadandgood thingsbefore we returntoGod
Every human being is bound to taste death; and We test you [all] through the bad and the good
[things of life] by way of trial: and unto Us you all must return
23:55-58 teach that giftsinthislife are notrewardsto the chosen, butare meansto testing.
Do they think that, in giving them wealth and sons, We are eager for their welfare? By no
means! They do not understand the reality of the matter. Surely those who live cautiously for
fear of God, And those who believe in the signs and revelations of God and who do not worship
other than God, who do good deeds, and their hearts are full of fear by the very idea that they
shall have to return to God, These race to do good deeds, and they shall win them in the race
27:14 al warnsthose whorejectthe signsof God althoughtheyknow thattheyare true signsand
revelations
- and in their wickedness and self-exaltation they rejected them, although their minds were
convinced of their truth: and behold what happened in the end to those spreaders of corruption!
28:50 warnsthose whofollowtheirdesireswithoutguidance fromGod
And since they cannot respond to this thy challenge, know that they are following only their own
desires: and who could be more astray than he who follows [but] his own desires without any
guidance from God? Verily, God does not grace with His guidance the evildoers
29:60 teachesthatGod providesthe meansof livingtopeople andtothe animals(whichcannot
store foodfor future use)
How many creatures are there that do not carry their provisions with them? God provides for
them as He provides for you. It is He Who is All-hearing, All-knowing
32:12 isa scene fromthe hereaftertowarnthose whofail to dogood deeds
If only you could visualize when the criminals will hang their heads before God saying: "Our God!
We have seen and we have heard; please send us back to the world and we will do good deeds: we
are now convinced."
32:22 warnsthose whoignore God’ssigns
Who could be more unjust than the one who is reminded of the signs and revelations of God and
he turns away from them? Surely We shall punish such criminals
33:39 teachesthatGod will rewardthose whodeliverhismessagesandfearnone save God(the
verse doesnotmentionthe reward;butsaythat those are veryspecial peopletoGod;God knows
howto rewardhisveryspecial people)
Those Who deliver the messages of God and fear Him, and fear none but God. God knows how to
settle their account
34:25-26 teach that everyone will be judgedforhisdeedsonly(notforthe mistakesof fathersor
others)
Say: You will not be asked of what we committed, nor shall we be asked of what you do
Say: Our Lord will bring us all together, then He will judge between us with truth. He is the All
knowing Judge
34:34 warnsthe wealthypeople whoare usuallythe firstpeopletorejectthe prophets
Whenever We have sent a Warner to a town, its wealthy residents have said: "We surely
disbelieve in what you are sent with"
35:32 teachthat some of those whoinheritthe scripture are badand some are good
Then We gave the Scripture as inheritance unto those whom We elected. But of them are some
who wrong themselves and of them are some who are lukewarm and of them are some who
outstrip (others) through good deeds, by God's leave. That is the great favour!
35:37 isa scene from the hereaftertoexplainthe conditionsof the disobedientwhowishtogoback
to life todo gooddeeds(althoughtheyare grantedenoughtime todemonstrate theirbehaviour)
And they cry for help there, (saying): Our Lord! Release us; we will do right, not (the wrong)
that we used to do. Did not We grant you a life long enough for who reflected to reflect
therein? And the Warner came unto you. Now taste (the flavour of your deeds), for evil doers
have no helper
38:14 warnsthose whorejectthe Prophets
All rejected the apostles, so My Punishment came justly and inevitably (on them)
40:60 warnsthose whodo not ask God forguidance
And your Lord says: "Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer): But those who are too arrogant to
obey Me will surely find themselves in Hell in humiliation!"
41:53 urgesus to thinkaboutGod’ssigns
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to
them that it is the truth
39:59-61 is a scene fromthe hereaftertowarn the arrogant whodenythe signsandrevelations
Then God will say to him: "My revelations did come to you; but you denied them, were arrogant
and you were among the disbelievers."
On the Day of Judgement you shall see that the faces of those who uttered falsehood against
God shall be darkened. Is there not an abode in hell for such arrogant?
And God will save those who feared Him by their attainment; no evil will touch them, nor will
they grieve
40:81 warnsthose whoignore God’ssignswhichhe showseverywhere
Thus, He shows you His signs; then, which signs of God you will deny?
42:40 teachesthatit isbetterto forgive thantoreturn evil forevil
And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes
reconciliation - his reward is [due] from God . Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers
42:43 urgesus to be patientandto forgive
And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination
43:20 warnsthose whoworshipotherGodsand claim that theydo nothave a choice to choose the
rightfaith
And they said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them." They
have of that no knowledge. They are not but falsifying
43:36-37 warns those whoignore GodGuidance that theywill be misledbydevils
And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil,
and he is to him a companion. And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while
they think that they are [rightly] guided
43:72 Teachesthat people are rewardedaccordingtotheirdeeds(Goddoesnotcreate people as
holyor sinners. He doesnotdetermine theirsalvation, buthe delegatesthattasktoeach person)
And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do
45:15 teachesthatpeople determine theirfate bytheirdeeds
Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against the self. Then
to God you will be returned
45:21-22 teach that God distinguishesthe righteousfromthe evil doers
Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done
righteous deeds - [make them] equal in their life and their death? Evil is that which they judge.
And God created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for
what it has earned, and they will not be wronged
45:28-31 explainsascene fromthe hereafter;people will be rewardedfortheirdeeds, all deedsare
recorded
You shall see every nation on its knees. Every nation shall be summoned to its book of record,
and God will say: "Today you shall be rewarded for your deeds. This book of Ours speaks about
you with the truth. Surely We have recorded all your deeds."
As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their God will admit them into His mercy.
That will be a glorious achievement.
But as to those who disbelieved, God will say: "Were My revelations not recited to you? But you
showed arrogance and chosen to be criminals"
46:13 teachesthatthe obedient believerscanearntheirsalvation
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is God ," and then remained on a right course - there will
be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve
51:50 teachesthatGod is the onlyrefuge toflee to.The verse doesnotmentionthe sourcesof the
risksto flee from;the onlysafe havenfromall disastersisGod
So flee to God . Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear Warner
63:10 urgesus to spendmoneytosupportthe poor
And spend [in the way of God ] from what We have provided you before death approaches one
of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity
and be among the righteous."
76:27 warnsthose whojust enjoylife andforgettothinkabouttheirsalvation
Indeed, those [disbelievers] love the immediate life and leave behind them a grave Day
80:34-37 warn aboutthe Day of Judgment
On the Day a man will flee from his brother, And his mother and his father, And his wife and his
children, on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern
24:22 urgesforgiveness
“...and you should forgive And overlook: Do you not like God to forgive you? And God is The
Merciful Forgiving.”
83:2-3 urges justice
“Woe to those... who, when they have to receive by measure from people, they demand exact full
measure, but when they have to give by measure or weight to people, give less than due”
4:8-9 urge people totake care of the orphansand the needy
“...orphans and the needy, give them something and speak kindly to them. And those who are
concerned about the welfare of their own children after their death, should have fear of God
[Treat other people's Orphans justly] and guide them properly.”
2:267 urge people tospendof the goodthingsthat theyhave earned
“O you who believe! Spend [benevolently] of the good things that you have earned... and do not
even think of spending [in alms] worthless things that you yourselves would be reluctant to
accept.”

Transforming earth into a paradise book summary

  • 1. Transforming Earth into a Paradise according to the Original Gifts The God whocreatedpeople hasempoweredthemwithoriginalgifts;the giftsof minds, intelligence, andthe conscience are internal personalProphetsforeachhumanto guide himtothe basicmeasuresof the good thingstodo and the bad thingstoavoid Before we presentthe successguidelinesaccordingtowhatGod has revealedtothe Prophets,we start withthe teachingsof the normal wise people whodidnotclaimthattheywere prophets. The purpose isto clarifythatthe guidance providedbythe original giftsof intelligenceandconscience is similartothe guidance providedbythe prophets The purpose alsoisto clarifythat those whoneverheardof Prophetsare notforsakenbecause God has equippedthembyinternal prophetsandtheywill be guidedtothe wisdombytheiroriginal gifts Those whoneverheardof Prophetsmighthave aneasiertest;theymightbe savedif theyfollow theirconscience. Those whoknowthe teachingsof the prophetshave amore difficulttest;they have to obeyprophet’steachingsinadditiontofollowingtheiroriginal gifts The fair teacherprepareseasytestsforthe childrenwhoare intheirfirstgrade because theyreceive little education, buthe preparesmore complextestsforthe studentsof the advanceddegreeswho receive more education The common groundof all religionsandall differentsourcesof wisdomis‘the goldenrule’ What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others. Confucius Do not do unto others whatever is injurious to yourself. – Zoroaster,Shayast-na-Shayast13.29 “Do not do to others what angers you if done to you by others.” - Socrates
  • 2. "What thou avoidest suffering thyself seek not to impose on others."— Epictetus(55-135) "Do not do to others what would anger you if done to you by others." – Isocrates Putting oneself in the place of another, one should not kill nor cause another to kill – Buddha One who, while himself seeking happiness, oppresses with violence other beings who also desire happiness, will not attain happiness hereafter. – Buddha,Dhammapeada,10 “Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant with the weak and wrong. Sometime in your life, you will have been all of these.” Gautama Buddha No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path ― Gautama Buddha, SayingsOf Buddha “Remember always that you are just a visitor here, a traveller passing through. Your stay is but short and the moment of your departure unknown.” Dhammavadaka “It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.” ― Gautama Buddha “Long is the night to him who is awake; long is a mile to him who is tired; long is life to the foolish who do not know the true law.” ― Gautama Buddha Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
  • 3. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it ― Gautama Buddha “Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” Gautama Buddha Take small account of might, wealth and fame, for they soon pass and are forgotten. Instead, nurture love within you and strive to be a friend to all. Truly, compassion is a balm for many wound Faith is like a lamp and wisdom makes the flame burn bright. Carry this lamp always and in good time the darkness will yield and you will abide in the Light Dhammavadaka However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act on upon them? Buddha Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule Buddha One should never do that to another which one regards as injurious to one’s own self. This, in brief, is the rule of dharma. Other behaviour is due to selfish desires. – Brihaspati, Mahabharata. Hinduism Analysisof those teachingsshowthattheyare similartothe prophet’steachings, similarspiritual fruitsfromsimilargardenswateredbythe same spring, inspiredandgiftedbythe same great creator He who sows the ground with care and diligence acquires a greater stock of religious merit than he could gain by the repetition of ten thousand prayers Zoroaster(c.628 - c.551)
  • 4. It is the greatest good for an individual to discuss virtue every day...for the unexamined life is not worth living - Socrates The safest course is to do nothing against one's conscience. With this secret, we can enjoy life and have no fear from death - Voltaire The above refersto the original giftslikethe conscienceandthe intelligence;those are internal prophetwithineachhumantoguide himto whatisthe rightthingto do andto warn himabout the bad thingstoavoid All sects are different, because they come from men; morality is everywhere the same, because it comes from God. - Voltaire Men are equal; it is not birth but virtue that makes the difference. Voltaire There isno harm whenwe followsuchwise teachingstaughtbythose spiritual leaderswhotaught wisdominorderto enable ustoknowthe truth, so thatthe truthwill setusfree Those wise people were humble, whocame toserve others, whoacceptedpersecutionsinorderto guide the humanity, whodidnotclaimtobe of divine nature, whodidnotaskpeople toworship them We donot have full knowledge aboutGod,we cannotsaythat he allowstemptationssohe isa bad God, we cannotsay that since God allowssufferingthenhe isabad God.God has revealedthatwe are beingtestedandthere are manythingswe donot know. That wasvalidthousandsof yearsago, it isvalidnow, itwill be validuntil the endof thattemporarylife Jobdid notclaimto be a Prophetandhe didnot claimthat he had receivedrevelationsfromGod, but hisunderstandingwasbasedonthe original gifts;the mindandthe conscience. He understood that the spiritinus isthe breath of God whichmakesusunderstand
  • 5. But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty that makes him understand Job32:8 In hissimple statement,he taughtthatthe humanmindisnot like the stand-alonecomputerof limitedmemoryandintelligence, butitisconnectedtothe networkof unlimitedsource of wisdom; connectedtoGod. God doesnotstore everythinginthe humanminds, buthe listens, communicates, answersthe prayers, andenlightensussothatwe know what isrightand what is wrong, and providesmuchmore resourcesof wisdomtothose whouse theiroriginal gifts, tothose whothinkand whocommunicate withtheir conscience Whenthe studentignorestostudyhisbooks;we cannot blame the teacherwhogave the booksand whourgedthe studentstostudyhardin orderto succeed.Similarly,we cannotblame Godwho giftedpeoplewithmindsandconsciencewhenpeoplefail tothink Those whothink, andask God to helpthemunderstand, theycouldbe guidedtothe wisdom The religionteacherswhoteachthat‘OnlyourProphetisthe real Prophetof God, onlyour religionis the true religion,we have the onlywayforsalvation”those mustbe wrongbecause theycannot prove that otherProphetsare wrong;onlyGod knowsthose whohave receivedhisrevelations We donot have enoughknowledge tosay“that personhave notreceivedrevelationfromGod”,but we can compare the teachingsagainstthe teachingsof Moses,Jesusandthe similarconsistent teachingsbyotherProphetsandwe can alwaysask God to guide usto the truth;the God who createdus knowshowto deliverhismessage tothe people he createdandhe knowshow to answer our prayers
  • 6. Transforming Earth into a Paradise according to Judaism God has promisedblessingsforobedience andcursesfordisobedience Deuteronomy 11:26-28 See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse, the blessing if you obey the commands of God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the commands of God and turn from the way that I command you today Deuteronomy32:46-47 "he said to them, “Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. They are not just idle words for you—they are your life. Deuteronomy28:2-6 confirmsandreiteratesthe same message All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. The most frequentteachingsof the OldTestimonyare 'blessingsforobedience&Cursesfordis- obedience Deuteronomy 30:15-16 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. Deuteronomy30:19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live
  • 7. Deuteronomy 10:12-13 what does God ask of you but to fear God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13and to observe the LORD's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? The same consistentteachingsare alsoconfirmedin Deuteronomy7:12-16,Deuteronomy11:13-15, Deuteronomy15:5-6,Leviticus26 Deuteronomy29:9 alsourgespeople tofollow the law inordertosucceed Therefore keep the words of this covenant and do them that you may prosper in all that you do Similarteachingsare alsomentionedinDeuteronomy 28:15-20, 28:47-48, 28:58-59, 30:8-10, andin manyother verses Deuteronomy4:2"Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of God that I give you. Deuteronomy6:4-9 “Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. “You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. “You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates Deuteronomy11:18-20 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates Deuteronomy 30:11-14 Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.
  • 8. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it? Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. Mosestaught that Justice shouldbe grantedtoall – one measure forthe citizensandthe strangers Leviticus 19:34 The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt The same message of lovingthe foreignerswasconfirmedinDeuteronomy 10:19, and Leviticus 19:34 Deuteronomy 10:19 And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt Leviticus19:34 The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself In Deuteronomy10:13-29, Moseshas summarizedwhatGodwantsfrom us. These versesteachusthat God isjustand merciful;he likesustobe justand merciful toorphans, strangers, andwidows, toworshiphimasthe onlyGod and to obeyhislaw Deuteronomy 10:12-13 - And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good Deuteronomy10:17-19 teachthat God isgreat, mighty, awesome, doesnotshow partiality;reminds us of the justice forthe orphanand the widow
  • 9. For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe. He ensures that orphans and widows receive justice. He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing. So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt Deuteronomy27:19 Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the orphan, or the widow Deuteronomy24:17 Do not deprive the foreigner or the fatherless of justice, or take the cloak of the widow as a pledge Deuteronomy 24:14 -15 Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns. Pay them their wages each day before sunset, because they are poor and are counting on it. Otherwise they may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin Exodus23:2 is a warningto those whofollow the majority Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd Joshua1:7-8 teachespeople tokeepGod’sLaw alwaysontheirlips Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful The core teachingsof Mosesare alsoconfirmedbythe Prophets;theyhave alsotaughtthatGod revealedthe lawsthatare justand right, but mostpeople became arrogantanddidnotobeyGod’s commands
  • 10. 1 kings3:9-14 teachesthatwhen Solomon askedforwisdomtodistinguishbetweenwhatisright and whatis wrong;God waspleased thatSolomonhadaskedforthe wisdomandnot forlong life or wealth.Godhave answeredhisprayersandaskedhimtocontinue toobeyGod That is the conditionsof answeringthe prayers;toobeyGod.It isnot a free giftto certainpeople; Obedience isaconditionforansweringthe prayers Our life consistsof anumberof days, witheach daypasses,we lose apart of our life –thisshould urge us to think, whatisthe mostimportantthingtodo – to Get wisdom Similarteachingsare taughtbyDavidand Solomon Psalm90:12 teachus that we shouldbe wise andknow thatour life consistsof days, eachday passes, partof our life is cut;thiswisdomhelpstobringuscloserto God So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom Proverbs17:15 states: He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the righteous, both of them alike are an abomination unto God That shouldbe consideredasawarningto the teacherswhopromise free salvationtothe sinners withoutadvisingthemtoobeyGod’slaw In Psalms1:1-2 Davidteachesthatthere are wickedpeoplewhochoose the wayof sinnersand there are righteouspeople whochoose toobey;he didnotteachthat people are bornsinners Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.
