This document discusses a pervasive game called "Reality Starts/Ends Here" played by students at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2011. It was designed to encourage collaboration across disciplines by having students produce media in response to prompts from playing cards. The game aimed to break down silos between departments through mystery, social play, and creative projects shared online. It succeeded in sparking tribalism, organized card banks, and a "productive chaos" as players formed connections and partnerships through game experiences. An evaluation schematic shows how the game dynamically engaged the community through buzz, creative collaboration, and digital/real-world artifacts that were shared.
