The SoftAge
Online Learning Hub
SoftAge Information Technology Ltd. : Confidential12 March 2015
The Concern
Recently, even though our scanners have a capacity of 30,000 pages a day, we quoted 1000 pages a
day per scanner in a tender. This increased the cost per sheet, causing us to lose the bid. If the
persons in charge of scanning were better trained, constantly trained and more efficient, we can
avoid this.
This led me to contemplate the concept of training in the company in general, which led me to
discover that it might be too de-centralized and sporadic to ensure quality and monitor
results.
Additionally, research for this project indicated that we do not currently have a regular training needs
assessment and annual training calendar, which led me to infer that we need to organize our
training processes further.
We, as SoftAge, believe that people are our greatest assets. Yet we are not polishing and
harnessing this resource as effectively as we can.
