3. Introduction:
 The Training and Placement Cell is for the students
and companies records maintains in the database.
 The students records are entered including their
academic details and their personal details.
 It will also manage the data of the Company which
would comprise of the profile of the Company,
eligibility criteria and the facilities or the package it
provides etc.
 The System would provide the facility of viewing both
the personal and academic information of the student
and company.

4. Existing System
 Existing system does all process manually.
 This is time consuming.
 Paper records are easily damaged in course
of time.
 The life time of paper record is unreliable less
that it easily gets spoiled.
 Expenditure is high. Manual system needs
added man power.
 Securing of manual system is not fully
guaranteed. Inaccuracy can be expected.

5. Proposed System:
 The System would store all the academic as well as p
ersonal details of the students who wish to be plac
ed and the
Companies who offer jobs to the students.
 The details of the Companies as well as the students
may be updated or modified or
deleted to keep the information up to date.
 Also notifications would be sent to the students about
the
Companies i.e. details like the Company profile, eligibi
lity criteria for the job profile etc.

6. Requirements
Functional Requirements:
 The Training and Placement Cell is to take a record
of Companies and students by restricting a large
database that would be used for each.
 The System would provide the facility of viewing both
the personal and academic information of the
students and also the company.
 The System would also be able to search for eligible
students and company with respect to their
specifications and requirements.
 The eligible students would receive an email
including the details of the Company, placement
procedure and other details.

7. Requirements
Non- Functional Requirements:
 Performance: Performance of system should be
adequate and fast.
 User friendly environment: System interface should
be simple and user friendly.
 Application maintenance: maintenance and
Documentation should be done thoroughly.
 Platform independence: System should be capable
of working in any environment.
