What is traffic collision? • A traffic collision, also known as a motor vehicle collision occurs when a vehicle collides, with another vehicle, pedestrian, animal, road debris, or other stationary obstruction, such as a tree or utility pole. Traffic collisions may result in injury, death, vehicle damage and property damage. • A number of factors contribute to the risk of collision, including vehicle design, speed of operation, road design, road environment, driver skill or impairment, and driver behavior. • Half of all crash victims are vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists. • Biggest blamer for traffic collision is usually driver himself. Loads of car crashes happen because driver is not paying atention or he/she is drunk (in most cases). Car crashes can be also occured because of bad wheather or bad driving.
- 3. Collisions can be fatal, non-fatal and ‘’chained reaction’’ • Fatal crash brings at least one death. (picture 1) • Non-fatal crash is when all paricipants survive (picture 2) • ‘’Chained reaction’’ crash is when there are more than 2 venchiles involved in crash. How to prevent a collision • Many goverments are setting laws for traffic by reducing speed on highways, important use of headlights even if it’s day, more controls by police and bigger tickets cost. • Collision can also be prevented if you can properly choose when you are capeble of driving or not. • It’s really cool when 16 years old drives a car but it’s just not safe, specialy on open highway roads.

Injuries and how to prevent them • By 2030 traffic collisions will be on 1st place by taking lifes and diseblying people if we don’t try to reduce them. • In traffic you can get hurt as someone who started the collision or someone who just happend to be there in wrong time and place in another words as participant. • Injuries can often be deadly and almost 35% of people who are particapating die in the next 30 days (time laps when death is caused by collision) , but smetimes injuries can be nothing but a little scratch that will forever warn us to drive carefully. • Seat-belts and airbags in cars can reduce your injuries and death as much as helmets when you are driving bike. • Normal speed and awearnes can help you reduce damage or they’ll help you avoid the collision.

Did you know? • Traffic collisions take 1.4 million lifes per year. • Traffic collisions injure or disable 50 million people and 46% are kids under 12 years. • Each year nearly 400,000 people under 25 die on the world's roads, on average over 1,000 a day. • Road crashes are the leading cause of death among young people ages 15-29, and the second leading cause of death worldwide among young people ages 5-14. • Children, pedestrians, cyclists and the elderly are among the most vulnerable of road users. • Using a helmet while driving a bike can reduce fatal and serious head injuries by up to 60% while correctly used seat- belts reduce the risk of death in a crash by 69%
