This document discusses research into new transportation services and modes that could help reduce urban congestion by attracting solo drivers. It aims to study whether options like shared taxis, express minibuses, real-time transit information, park-and-ride with children services, and electric car rentals could appeal to drivers accustomed to private vehicle use. The research is currently conducting stated choice experiments and focus groups to help design a survey to evaluate the potential impact of these alternatives on congestion levels.
