Rhinos, giant pandas, and tigers are among the top ten most endangered species due to habitat loss and poaching for traditional medicines and body parts. Sturgeons are also threatened by overfishing for their valuable caviar, while goldenseal, alligator snapping turtles, and hawksbill turtles are endangered due to overharvesting for traditional remedies and international trade of their shells and meat. Big leaf mahogany, green-cheeked parrots, and mako sharks also face threats including deforestation, the pet trade, and finning.
