papers done and I went to GUST. They told me that the semester started, but it s not
too late and all I had to do is the English and math exam. I passed both. I started my
first day at GUST on January 21. It was a good start to the year. I learned a lesson;
life is not easy, you need to work hard to achieve your goal. Education is the most
important aspect of life, without it we d be lost. In order to be successful, you need

this is due to the academic, career, and materialistic demands. Researchers have
noted a positive correlation between lack of sleep and decreased physical health,
mental health, and academic performance. Sleep consists of two cycles: non rapid
eye movement (NREM) and rapid eye movement (REM), which are sleep patterns
that alternate throughout the night. Firstly, sleep begins with non REM sleep
lasting about 90 minutes followed by REM sleep lasting 10 30 minutes, then the
cycle repeats itself. REM sleep is the most important phase of sleep because the
body is internally awake, with waking like brain activity, yet asleep and externally
calm. Thus, an uninterrupted REM phase of sleep is necessary for integrating
previously learned material, and giving the individual a feeling of being well
rested and refreshed. Many individuals will put sleep off so that more work hours,

According to Dr.Penner s lecture about Canadian adolescents, adolescence is defined
as the years in which biological, physical, emotional and social movements transpire
to cue the onset of adulthood and signify the end of childhood. I believe that it is in
these crucial years that highly self conscious teenagers desperately strive to find their
identity rather than their sense of self. Sense of self is considered as something that
every individual is born with. During Dr.Penner s lecture I agreed with some of his
statements, one of which states, parents can see their teenagers character and
personality more as they mature, but he suggests that they have always been that
way, they don t just suddenly become a self because parents are now able to
understand them. The sense of self unlike identity, in the early years, is not criticized
to be true or false or judged as right or wrong. Rather, it is associated with the feeling
of safekeeping, security and recognition of attributes that the child acknowledges as
important. Throughout later years, sense of self becomes positively or negatively
correlated with characteristics that parents value and portray for their children
according to how they live their lives. I highly place importance on the fact that this
sense of self must be nurtured in their environment and cherished by their loved ones.
On the other hand, identity is an internal, subjective self structure that is comprised
of one s own personal experiences, history, attitudes, morality, abilities, drives and
overall uniqueness. This complex internal structure of individuality is adaptive to
their audience. I am certain that every teenager s main aspiration in their adolescent
years is to find their identity. Identity from my perspective is something that unique
and is customized to every individual. I do believe that adolescents begin to piece
together their identity through what they have found works for them and what doesn
t, but they don t completely establish their identity as a whole. This is because they

Introduction
Somalia is a small country in the eastern part of Africa, known as The Horn of
Africa . According to the CIA World Factbook (2016), Somalia has a population of
roughly 10.4 million, and 85 percent of people are Somali. Additionally, a significant
part of the population is Muslim, (CIA World Factbook, 2016), whom have
contributed to the current conflict. In this report, we analyze the recent violent
conflict and U.S. intervention in Somalia.
The disorder in Somalia that has built up for many years has contributed to the
growth of a terrorist group bent on global jihad, al Shabaab (Ibrahim, 2010). Al
Shabaab is an Islamist group that has been involved in conflict with the Somalian
government, and is considered one of the major threats to Somalia s prospects for
peace (Mueller, 2016).
The United States became involved with military strikes in Somalia during 2009, to
combat al Shabaab (Rotte, 2016). However, numerous civilians have lost their lives
in the process. Complicating the situation, it is not always clear whether or not al
Shabaab poses an imminent threat. Prior to 2009, the United States also set up the
Alliance for the Restoration of Peace and Counter terrorism, where they allied with
Somali warlords to fight al Qaeda (Ibrahim, 2010). Since the United States allied itself

This section segues into the third and final section of the Toccata, which consists
almost entirely of a passage doubled at the sixth and comprising reiterations of the
same three note figure, similar to doubled passages in the first section; after a brief
pedal flourish, the piece ends with a D minor chord. In Bach s brilliance, he made
the subject of the four voice fugue up entirely of sixteenth notes with an implied
pedal point set against a brief melodic subject that first falls and then rises.
Nevertheless, Baroque music frequently encountered Violinistic figures and that of
Bach, both as fugue subjects and as material in non imitative pieces. The answer is in
the subdominant key, rather than the dominant. Although it s a four part fugue, there
are only three voices, and some of the interludes are in two or even one voice
(notated as two); although Bach employed only one simple triadic harmony
throughout the fugue, there is an unexpected C minor subject entry and, furthermore,
a solo pedal statement of the subject (a unique feature for a Baroque fugue). After
the final subject entry, the composition resolves to a sustained B flat major chord; a
multi sectional coda follows, which Bach marked as Recitativo. Although it s only
17 bars long, it progresses through five tempo changes; in addition, Bach had the last
bars played Molto
