With the advent of computer and internet technology City Campus College wishes to provide adequate internet coverage for their students on campus. Computers are a necessary educational tool needed to complete assigned class assignments and aid in study for tests. To do so the College should determine the number of computers the students own. This information will help determine the coverage needed to provide internet service to all students on campus and enhance the learning experience of each student.
Research Problem
City Campus College may be failing to provide students with adequate internet server services to deal with current student computer demand which may lead to student dissatisfaction and lower grade point averages. Students have complained in the past of inadequate coverage or slow access speed. Part of the tuition paid by the students are supposed to be used to provide services for student educational needs and services.
Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this research is to inform the Dean of City Campus College of student computer ownership so he may make more informed decisions.
Research Question
Is the City Campus College student computer ownership information accurate in claiming that of a random sample of 600 students 10% owned zero; 16% owned one; 55% owned two; 11% owned three and 8% owned more than three computers?
Quantifiable Measures
The measured variable represents the number of computers owned by City Campus College students in May 2012. To qualify as a computer the device must be a laptop or desk top device and so labeled by the manufacturer and be located or brought to the City campus. Handheld electronic devices, such as cell phones, iPhones, and iPads do not qualify. The data represents a quantitative count of discrete, ratio data.

Module 3 Week 6: The Purpose Statement
In this course, you have learned that a final problem statement normally takes many months to develop. Yet this week, you are asked to begin to develop the purpose statement. This is not because your problem statement is finalized but because it is time for you to evaluate and practice creating the rest of the common components of the doctoral capstone. This is part of the iterative process of preparing the capstone.
Remember, though, that the assignments in this course are unlikely to be final versions of your study. The intention is to help you to understand and prepare for what you will need to write in your capstone.
The purpose statement serves as the connection between the problem being addressed and the focus of the study. Depending on the methodology, in:
· Quantitative studies, state what needs to be studied by describing two or more factors (variables) and a conjectured relationship between (among) them related to the identified gap in practice or problem;
· Qualitative studies, describe the need for increased understanding about the issue to be studied (based on the identified gap or problem); and
· Mixed-methods studies (with both quantitative and qualitative aspects), clarify how the two approaches will be used together to inform the study.
Notes on Readings
This week’s readings continue to provide information on how to review the research literature. Apply this guidance to your ongoing efforts to read and take notes interactively in the research relevant to your problem. The media and other resources, this week, will help you to develop your understanding of the purpose statement.
The reading in the Single text, this week, can help you to fine tune your system for scholarly reading and note taking via the use of your citation management software.

You will spend five weeks completing a 5-7 page academic argument in APA style. Each week is devoted to
one phase of the academic writing process:
1. Topic Selection & Beginning Research
2. Pre-Writing & Organization
3. Draft Writing
4. Revision
5. Final Draft
Week 1: Topic Selection & Beginning Research
Select a topic from the list of approved topics that begins on page two of this document. You will be working
with the same topic for the next five weeks. Choose a topic that is interesting but be wary of topics that elicit a
strong emotional response. We will be writing an objective academic paper in third-person perspective, which
may be difficult if you feel too personally connected to the topic.
As you begin to gather research on the topic, start organizing your work into an annotated bibliography. You
will submit your annotated bibliography for grading and feedback at the end of Week 1. You will use a working
thesis statement to guide you. These items may need to be revised before you move forward.
Week 2: Pre-Writing & Organization
After gathering sufficient research, you will begin to build a credible argument about the topic, which may
require revisions to your working thesis statement. You will submit an outline of your academic argument for
grading and feedback at the end of Week 2. The outline may need to be revised before you move forward.
Week 3: Draft Writing
You will utilize your annotated bibliography and outline as tools to write a rough draft essay. The annotated
bibliography provides you with your research notes while the outline guides you through the structure of your
argument. You will submit a rough draft of your academic argument for grading and feedback at the end of
Week 3. You will have time to fully revise your draft over the remaining two weeks of class.
Week 4: Revision
The revision process contains a number of steps that may overlap and repeat. This includes additional research,
more writing, proofreading, editing, and content revision. You must consider and apply the feedback you
received throughout class as you revise your rough draft. You are expected to use Week 4 as an opportunity for
careful and thorough revision.
Week 5: Final Draft
The final week of class will culminate in the submission of your Final Research Paper. This is the final,
complete, error-free version of your academic argument. The final draft is worth 30% of your final grade in this
class.

Week 1: Topic Selection & Beginning Research
Select a topic from the list of approved topics that begins on page two of this document. You will be working
with the same topic for the next five weeks. Choose a topic that is interesting but be wary of topics that elicit a
strong emotional response. We will be writing an objective academic paper in third-person perspective, which
may be difficult if you feel too personally connected to the topic.
As you begin to gather research on the topic, start organizing your work into an annotated bibliography. You
will submit your annotated bibliography for grading and feedback at the end of Week 1. You will use a working
thesis statement to guide you. These items may need to be revised before you move forward.
Week 2: Pre-Writing & Organization
After gathering sufficient research, you will begin to build a credible argument about the topic, which may
require revisions to your working thesis statement. You will submit an outline of your academic argument for
grading and feedback at the end of Week 2. The outline may need to be revised before you move forward.
Week 3: Draft Writing
You will utilize your annotated bibliography and outline as tools to write a rough draft essay. The annotated
bibliography provides you with your research notes while the outline guides you through the structure of your
argument. You will submit a rough draft of your academic argument for grading and feedback at the end of
Week 3. You will have time to fully revise your draft over the remaining two weeks of class.
Week 4: Revision
The revision process contains a number of steps that may overlap and repeat. This includes additional research,
more writing, proofreading, editing, and content revision. You must consider and apply the feedback you
received throughout class as you revise your rough draft. You are expected to use Week 4 as an opportunity for
careful and thorough revision.
Week 5: Final Draft
The final week of class will culminate in the submission of your Final Research Paper. This is the final,
complete, error-free version of your academic argument. The final draft is worth 30% of your final grade in this
class.

DIRECTIONS:
In Module 7, the graduate candidate will develop and present a staff development (otherwise known
as professional development) program for classroom teachers that relates to IDEA and the High
Impact Law Cases of Special Education. You are to focus this presentation on the key components of
IDEA as well as the law cases that you studied in Module 6. During the presentation, you will give an
overview of the key components of IDEA. You will also give an overview of each law case and
discuss how the ruling impacts general educators when serving students with IEPs. The activity
should be organized in a fashion that will allow you to present it in one hour or less. You are to make
the actual presentation of your program to teachers in your building. It is suggested that you arrange
the presentation through your building principal. Your site-based mentor for this program is required
to attend and to sign a verification form. The verification form will be submitted with the other
module documents. Use the verification form provided in this document. Candidates will also be
required to develop and give an exit survey about the presentation to the participants. A copy of the
exit survey will be submitted to blackboard.
This module must include the following components:
1. Announcement of the Staff Development Activity
2. A completed participant sign-in sheet (must be scanned and submitted as part of the
assignment)
3. An agenda
4. A “hand-out” that provides information to participants (you may use the information from
Module 6 for this). This may not be a printed version of the power point.
5. A PowerPoint Presentation that is used for talking points
6. Reflection: Provide the answers to the following questions within a narrative:
What did you learn from completing this assignment?
Based on the obtained results from the exit survey and experience gained from this module,
what would you change in regard to your planning and presenting of the information?

Module 3 Week 6: The Purpose Statement
In this course, you have learned that a final problem statement normally takes many months to develop. Yet this week, you are asked to begin to develop the purpose statement. This is not because your problem statement is finalized but because it is time for you to evaluate and practice creating the rest of the common components of the doctoral capstone. This is part of the iterative process of preparing the capstone.
Remember, though, that the assignments in this course are unlikely to be final versions of your study. The intention is to help you to understand and prepare for what you will need to write in your capstone.
The purpose statement serves as the connection between the problem being addressed and the focus of the study. Depending on the methodology, in:
· Quantitative studies, state what needs to be studied by describing two or more factors (variables) and a conjectured relationship between (among) them related to the identified gap in practice or problem;
· Qualitative studies, describe the need for increased understanding about the issue to be studied (based on the identified gap or problem); and
· Mixed-methods studies (with both quantitative and qualitative aspects), clarify how the two approaches will be used together to inform the study.
Notes on Readings
This week’s readings continue to provide information on how to review the research literature. Apply this guidance to your ongoing efforts to read and take notes interactively in the research relevant to your problem. The media and other resources, this week, will help you to develop your understanding of the purpose statement.
The reading in the Single text, this week, can help you to fine tune your system for scholarly reading and note taking via the use of your citation management software.
This week, Thomas provides detailed instructions about how to interact with, and review, the research literature. These skills are critical in your work on your doctorate.

Assignment: The Purpose and Problem Statements
Stephen King, who has written more than 50 novels—and other books that have sold hundreds of millions of copies—also wrote about how he writes. In his book, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, King explains that his iterative approach to writing involves writing, putting it aside, writing something else, and then returning to the first draft.
While it is unlikely you will adopt Stephen King’s ritual for draft versions, recognize that “writing drafts” are an essential part of the process. This week’s writing assignment allows you to present an improved and refined problem statement and an aligned purpose statement.

Cyborg Learners and Adopting Tech Well in Health Professions Education
This invited keynote talk was given at University of Arkansas on May 1 2018 as part of their Teaching Scholars' Day. Dr. Corral challenged faculty to consider themselves as the 'hinge generation' of educational leaders who can speak to both those who advocate a traditional format for higher education, and the incoming (and current) generations who are voting with their feet away from lecture for modifications to how health professions programs offer and structure their learning experiences. Embracing GenAI - A Strategic Imperative
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
