This document discusses several types of tinea or ringworm infections: tinea corporis which causes scaly patches on the body; tinea faciei affecting the face; tinea barbae infecting bearded areas; tinea pedis or athlete's foot with scaling between toes; tinea manuum on the hands; tinea cruris on the groin; and tinea unguium of the nails. Symptoms vary by type but may include scaling, vesicles, loss of nail edges, and non-scarring hair loss.
