The three act structure involves the antagonist continuing to kill, Vincent and Bruce finding bodies, and eventually the antagonist jumps to his death while Vincent's identity is revealed.

Time remapping (2)
- 1. Time remapping; filming and editing task Freya Bruce
- 2. Time remapping is a term that refers to how you change and remap time during the editing process. These techniques include anti narratives and meta references. by using anti narratives, you create a disruption of the narrative like a freeze frame, slow motion and thought tracks. These can be used for a number of reasons to either high light an important object or symbol, to introduce a character using slow motion or freeze frames focuses on the small parts of the character and their personality. An example of slow motion could be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ez2LG4t-xg . This is a clip from the film 300, with an example of slow motion. Slow motion is used effectively here to show the power and status of the main man fighting. The mixture of slow motion and normal pace again emphasises the action of what's going on.

To experiment with these ideas of hyper reality we created some shots displaying slow motion and freeze frames - to make it post modern we used a hint of intertextuality from the film mean girls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5g8tjWwAeg In this, slow motion is used to enhance the way they strut themselves, the hair bouncing and the power they think they have around everyone. We decided to create similar scenes in a homage way. I thought that the idea of hair flicking in slow motion would look great as it would slow down time and allow the audience time to understand the personality of the character in a different way. Obviously portraying a stuck up character. I felt that this would be effective in time mapping as you can create a nice cocktail of fast and slow motion between hair flicks.

- 5. For a freeze frame we thought that it would be effective to shoot ourselves walking through double doors. This worked out well as the doors have an impact which blows the wind through the hair which creates a nice freeze frame. Again to show the characters personality. One scene that we filmed was the camera following over my shoulder and then me turning round with the dialogue ‘ can you stop following me ‘ this breaks the forth wall nicely as she is clearly on her own and is talking to the camera/audience, who the character thinks she is better than.
- 6. Editing… We uploaded our footage to premier, coding the good bad and ok clips that we filmed. We selected a clip and put it on the timeline, we clicked on opacity, and changed it to time remapping, speed. We then selected the ‘’cool bit’’ of our footage that we wanted to slow down and make more dramatic. Using the pen tool we selected the beginning of us walking through the door, and the end when we were close to the camera, by the holding down command and the pen tool. This created our key frames. We then made the speed slower in the section between the two key frames to 50% by dragging the yellow line down, in contrast to the other bits of the scene at 100%. The key frames are split in time remapping, so that you can create a speed ramp. making the time remapping more gradual, and evenly go down the percentages. After we had down this we clicked on the blue handles to make a Bezier curve, we moved it round to match the line to make the motion more natural, I really liked the effect of the slow motion and learnt how to edit this well in this exercise and would like to use this in my final trailer.
