Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

2. - I agree with this and we corrected it on iMovie by adjusting the darkness to make the shot more visible. However we didn’t want this shot to be to light due to the fact that we wanted the darkness to create an atmosphere. The shot at the end is too dark
3. - Through audience feedback we saw that some people didn’t understand that this was done on purpose. We choose to make the light become out of focus as we zoomed in because we felt it was a technique that is rarely used and its blurriness symbolised that something going on isn’t clear. We also found from research into other films, zooming on particular random objects showed importance and raised enigmas. The shot of the light is out of focus
