4. Introduction
• Three trading sessions in FX markets: Asia, London and US
• A large amount of money enters the markets at the beginning of each
session as fund managers place trades for the day.
• The trend for a given session is generally determined at the start of the
session. Trend for the three sessions is generally determined at,
o Asia: 7:15 PM – 7:45 PM EST
o London: 1:45 AM – 2:15 AM EST
o US: 7:00 AM – 7:30 AM EST
• Trading Strategy:
o Determine the trend for a particular trading session by using 15 min
candle patterns at the beginning of each session.
o Place trades in the direction of the trend for the session.
o Book profits before the end of the session.
• The broader market trend is not important in this case as these are very
short term trades (a single trading session).

5. Strategy 1: Continuation
• Trading strategy (Long):
o
The trading session opens at a
support level in a broader
uptrend. This provides a strong
buy signal.
o
Use a reversal signal on a 1015 min chart in the session
beginning times indicated
before to go long.
o
Stop = Placed below lows
before reversal.
o
Target = Book profits at the
end of the trading session.

6. Strategy 2: Pullback
• Trading strategy (Short):
o
The trading session opens at a
resistance level in a broader
uptrend. This provides a weak
sell signal.
o
Use a reversal signal on a 10-15
min chart in the sessions
beginning times indicated before
to go short.
o
Stop = Placed above highs
before reversal.
o
Target = Book profits at the end
of the trading session.
