Thomas Edison was an inventor born in 1847 who died in 1931, and was curious about how things worked from a young age. He tried out ideas and invented many things in his own laboratory, with his most famous invention being the light bulb, which provided electric lighting to homes and replaced gas and oil lamps. Edison also invented the phonograph and movie camera.
