Thomas Edison was born in 1847 in Ohio. He is most famous for inventing the light bulb, which revolutionized lighting. Edison also helped develop the electric chair. He had a famous quote about success coming from trying just one more time. Edison greatly impacted society by helping establish electric power infrastructure like suburban electric trains. He held over 1,000 patents and was one of the most prolific inventors in American history.
